…wait did I just pad my stats?
…my bad
My 1500th Post!!!
…weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
Right now-
I’m unemployed, and I’m looking at the want ads for a job. I don’t want to end up at another Kmart type job.
I don’t have a lot of friends (read-zero around here) because I’m so damn shy.
I love to debate and read. Usually, while I’m on the SDMB, I’m writing a story, reading a book, watching some documentary, etc.
Uh…I’m going to duck out now.
Well, congrats to you, X-Slayer!
My biggest fear in life is that I’ll be busted by those IT folks monitoring internet activity - I’m in management, and replaced someone who was incredibly incompetent, so everyone here thinks I walk on freaking water. I had a big scare last week when IT sent out one of those “internet/e-mail usage” warnings - turned out to be related to e-mail (whew).
Guinastasia, I am humbled by your post count (and you’re a young one, at that! )
I’m one of those no-life losers you’re ranting about. I have only one friend that I haven’t seen in months and while I enjoy reading books and watching TV and movies, the 'net is my preferred form of entertainment.
What does it matter to you how I spend my time?
I’m a stay-at-home Mum with 3 rugrats under 6and whichever way you look at it I find it very lonely. I tend to sneak on here a couple of times a day for a few minutes. Ive been around since 2002 but only registered this year.
This board tends to keep me in touch with the bigger picture, even if tha majority of you are a squillion miles away!
mipiace, I didn’t suggest that people with dull jobs should quit their jobs and go outside, I was talking about the folks who have an easier choice, like students on summer break.
Aesiron, it really doesn’t matter, I’m just curious, and thought that was what this board was for. Sorry if I sound “preachy”. Just hoping it might result in some introspection by others, and myself.
Are you doing anything else besides eating, sleeping and SDMB’ing??? Well pretty much no. I take care of my 88 year old shut-in grandmother 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Practically. Since I have to be here in this apartment I have to find things to keep me entertained and the SDMB provides an incredible amount of entertainment for no cost whatsoever.
How old are you? I’m 28
Do you have a job? I have no job.
A significant other? Nope. No friends either. I talk to my mother, my sister, her kids. Occasionally other relatives but it’s just me and my grandmother. My nearly deaf grandmother all day long. I always told people that I’d be an incredibly happy hermit. I was right. It does get boring but that’s where the SDMB comes in. My post count looks high but it should be even higher. I lost about 500 in the February that wasn’t.
Personally though I can’t imagine why anyone would be shocked that some people make 10 to 15 messages per day. I mean that’s 2 or 3 per forum. That is very easy to do what with so many new threads being made each and every day.
I think I’m in falling in love with Guinastasia! She’s so like me.
I’m one who works on a computer all day. And then when I get home, too.
What they said. About posting at work.
I have a job where 1/2 my work is done the first 7 to 10 days of the month. The rest of the time, I’m sitting here on the Boards. Better than doing nothing.
Oh - my bad…maybe I was wishing I COULD quit my job and go outside…(whine)
Q.E.D. is too busy posting to even notice this thread.
Hes King with over 25 posts per day. I don
t think anyone else is close. Except with him its the quality not the quantity. He is one of the most knowledgeable posters I
ve seen.
I dont beleive he
s currently working. And it seems like hes done with school too. -- He
s having too much fun here, too bad he can`t get paid for it.
That’s not it. Q.E.D. only occasionally forages into IMHO.
What am I supposed to be reflecting on? I’m not a very social person, I seriously dislike being crowded, I hate getting out in the summer due to low heat tolerance, I drink very rarely, and I just don’t particularly like going out, even with family. I know myself pretty well.
I’m much more content to stay at home and do my own thing, which is reading both online and off, listening to music, watching movies and so on. What is inherently superior in going outside and engaging in activities that I have no taste for?
This isn’t an attack or even a heated response.
