Dope The Halls V - MADs take note

Not to be flippant, but we’ll just have to see how it goes. FCD still has some bad days - the cold makes his neck and shoulder really hurt and when that happens, all he wants to do is crawl under a pile of afghans and sleep. Wish I could be more definite than that…

In the interest of time, I’d go with faux buttons, and attach the spats with velcro or hot glue.

Wait a minute Meros- I thought I was the fat guy with long hair! BTW-Claymores are pretty small (3.5#), actually. Perfect for last minute holiday fragging of enemy troops.

One of us has the wrong idea about spats. As far as I know, spats are not actually attached to the shoe. A strap runs from the bottom edge of one side of the spat, under the arch of the shoe, and buttons to the spat’s bottom edge on the other side. The top of a spat buttons along the ankle, much like the cuff of a shirt.

Ok, fine, I’m the fat guy with long blonde hair :stuck_out_tongue:

Weight’s not too big a deal, I’m pretty sure my car could handle it, and I might even be able to fit it. The more I think about it though, 5ft. long pointy things and small children likely wouldn’t mix well.

Why on earth?

Okey-doke, I have my contribution in the cooler in the car and the directions printed out. I’m about to hop into the shower. We’ll be spending the day in Annapolis, then heading up some time in the afternoon. Probably later than 2, but we’ll be there eventually.

I had a dream about this last night. Ginger, is your house painted in a lot of yellow? My dream was predominantly yellow. Also, it was a HUGE house, which I know is atypical of rowhouses. So the yellow is probably wrong, too. Whatevah - see you later!

I’m the fat, quiet guy with medium hair who watches too much TV.

Are you also the fat, quiet guy with medium hair who builds working perpetual motion machines? Or who has a magnetic monopole?

For if you have truly managed to ‘watch too much TV’, then these other equally impossible things should not be a problem for you.

Nope. Too busy watching TV, or at my computer. I have a TV next to my computer desk.

Okay…

Paper products in car… check (Plates, bowls, cutlery, cups)
Menorah in car… check (no candles, though)
Directions in hand… check

I just need to stop for gas and I’ll be on my way.

Aaron isn’t coming, though. He’s spending the night at Grandma’s.

The official Party Poopers got home safe and sound. Mr. Party Pooper is medicated and crashed on the couch. I enjoyed meeting new folks and chatting with those I’d met before, even if someone forgot we’d already met before… And I don’t think I caused the littlest WeirdNorthlet any damage when I kneed him in the head.

Much as I love living in the middle of nowhere, it makes having a social life a pain sometimes. I think all you MADs need to move to southern Maryland. That would make my life so much easier, and that’s what it’s all about, right?

Hope you’re all partying on and not mourning my departure!

Just got back. Sorry to have ducked out so early, but I’m not feeling well, and I don’t think Anita was either. It was very nice to meet/see folks, and thanks much to Dave and Ginger for having us all.

We just got home a few minutes ago. Thanks for the great time! The SO really liked being around Jimmy and talking to Anita.

We left before I got a chance to mention that I’m four degrees from Dan Aykroyd. My first Government job was in a mailroom with a guy who knew Donna Dixon’s father through his business. They both owned DC-area country bars at one time.

I also had a lovely time. Thank you, Dave and Ginger, for hosting yet again. It was great to see old friends again and meet new ones.

Sorry my timing was so off, in terms of getting to talk to (or even see, ahem, FCM) many of you – oh well, next time. (I’m thinking we should organize some kind of outing for this winter sometime.)

Ginger, Dave – many thanks for your outstanding hospitality. Hope you’ve managed to sweep out the riffraff by now…

The riff is all gone, but the raff is spending the night like she always does when we have a 'do.

Thanks for coming, everyone! It was nice to see some new faces and it’s always great to see the not-so-new.

Made it home, safe and sound. More to come.

Thanks Gingy and Weirdddave for yet again hosting the pack of crazies that we be. For those who left early, you missed a four star performance of Balloon Animals Behaving Indiscreetly. Much squeaking ensued. :stuck_out_tongue:

It was an excellent party & it was nice to see everyone. Thanks for the invite!

Just adding my thanks to the wonderful hosts. I wanted to mention that the food was delicious, especially the turkey.

It was really nice to meet everyone, and hope to make it to another DopeFest again soon.

I’m sorry I missed Balloon Animals Behaving Indiscreetly. Did anyone take pictures?
