Dope The Halls VII

It’s that time of year again, where my husband Weirddave and I throw our annual holiday party. We do a turkey and all of the trimmings, and we throw our home open to whomever would like to join us. It’s family friendly (if you don’t mind your kids seeing people indulge in a few cocktails, but nobody ever gets out of hand).

We’re in Baltimore County, in Parkville, Maryland. We ask that everyone brings something to share, and that you RSVP. We have a little bit of sleeping space available if someone wants to travel, and there are a couple of hotels quite nearby.

Now, let’s pin down a date. We don’t yet know when Dave’s work party is going to be, I’d like to know when everyone’s availability is, so that when I do know the date of the work 'do, I can set a date and start planning.

I’m not sure, actually, if this is VII or VIII. Last year, I called it VI, and I think I remember Dave telling me that he’d had two before we got married.

I’m lobbying for December 8 (which is mid-Chanukah), second choice December 15.

I’ll throw in with Ben for the 8th.

Me too, but that’s Dave’s drill weekend. It could be me and Aaron, though. Or just me. Whatever.

The 15th is good, too.

Robin

I’d also prefer the 8th. The 15th would work for me; I have something at the firehouse in the morning, but I could get there eventually.

You forgot the part about times… it starts at 2:00 and ends when you throw danceswithcats out in the wee hours.

A bump - come on, locals. I have someone who needs to make flight arrangements.

Who’s the mystery guest?

ME!

Well, you kinda effed up that mystery, dintcha?

He’s not a doper.

… yet.

He’s well aware of us. In fact, I believe he was a doper years ago.

Olentzero?

No, it’s nobody anyone would know from here.

It’s looking like December 8, so far.

Ah, another Canadian.

Nope.

You mean you know someone besides Dopers and Canadians?

If you don’t mind a late arrival (around 6:00pm) the 8th would work for me.

Don’t be late! You’ll miss Naked Beer Slip & Slide!
