Let me be sure I have the instructions right on this. It will be at 6:00 PM on Saturday, November 23rd at the Dogfish AleHouse, 13041 Memorial Highway, Fairfax, Virginia. The driving instructions for most of us will be to get off the Beltway at exit 49 and take 66 West for 6 miles or so. You then get off 66 at exit 57B for US-50 West. The rest of the driving instructions can be found online. Here’s a map:

Went to that place once, and it wasn’t too terribly loud. Just your regular craft beer pub/eatery with a few TVs thrown in to make it seem sports-bar-y. Will have to check if they have private rooms for parties…
We’re new to the area (and to Dopefests!) and are not familiar with all that is available out here. Frankly, 'd be a lot more comfortable if someone who actually knew how to organize these things took over.
I haven’t been there in a while, but generally it’s not terribly Loud. They do occasionally hire bands to play (local IIRC). It used to be a cheers restaurant and had a few private rooms. As I said, I haven’t been there in a few years, but it should be a decent place for a fest.
I can’t attend this time, but maybe after the winter holidays there can be another one.
I’d like to go, but the 23rd is a birthday dinner for someone else. What time are you starting, and what time are you ending? Since it’s a Saturday, I sincerely hope you plan to go well into the night. Otherwise, Sunday would work better for me.

Since this will be between Fairfax and Chantilly I looked for hotels in either place. Then I got one (around a mile from Dogfish).
Now, of course all the hotel ads I see online say “Looking for Hampton Inns in Chantilly?” Umm, if their cookies were so great they’d know I’d just BOOKED a room on Hilton’s own freakin’ website :rolleyes:
Unless there’s some secret rivalry between the franchisees of Chantilly and Fairfax and they can’t wait to scoop me.

Good question - there hasn’t been a lot of noise lately.
Typo Knig and I are planning on being there unless something urgent crops up. We have to be in Falls Church until 5 PM, then a dash home (in the opposite direction, unfortunately) for a couple minutes, then head out to Chantilly, so we will probably NOT be there right at 6 PM.
FYI, tradition for Dopefests is that if you leave a name / make a reservation, it’s under the name of Cecil Adams :D.
Just occurred to me: is anyone who’s coming planning on taking Metro? If so, the nearest would be Vienna. Shout out if someone wants a ride from Metro to the restaurant.
