Dopefest in the U.K., 13 September to 26 September?

Can you suggest a place and a date, Angua?

How about Saturday 20th Sept - Either Birmingham or London. Unless someone has a better idea.

Would it be possible to do it on Sunday the 21st? I have events going on in Oxford from Thursday evening the 18th till about noon on Sunday the 21st. I could make it (by train) to either London or Birmingham by the late afternoon of the 21st.

Sounds like a good plan. Now to see who else is up for such an event…

Sorry - I’m only available Sat 13th or Sun 14th.

Do you want to suggest a time and a place, qts?

Let me give this one more shot. Anybody interested in this?

I’m interested. I live in north london and am free as far as i know both weekends, especially 20/21st sept. i know pubs all over town, because drinking is my favourite…

man, i sound like i have no life…

well i’m free on the 13th and 14th in London and up for something.

Could do latter in the month somewhere else if necessary but i’d need to know pretty sharpish.

I would prefer the 20/21 as the 13/14 will be spent holed up in my office, attempting to finish writing my midterm…

the 20th (saturday)?
im good. all we need is a convenient place and time, if peeps are up for it.

Would it be possible to do this on the 21st rather than the 20th?

:smack: Its my dad’s birthday that weekend, so no coming out to play for me. My mum kindly reminded me yesterday!

Carry on…

I could do a Sunday lunch/afternoon session in London on the 21st.

fine by me. place and time anybody?

okay so thats sunday the 21st yeah.

cool - i think i can do that but i may be camping that weekend (i’ll check).

And i vote for a decent classic central london pub.

Sorry, I can’t do that weekend. Have fun!

right, classic central london pubs:

Lamb & Flag in covent garden
Red Lion on windmill st, off shaftesbury ave
the Ship on Wardour st
Crown & 2 Chairmen, round the corner from the Ship
Glasshouse stores on brewer st
Glassblowers, a bit further down from there
Intrepid Fox on wardour st
the Anchor, on the south bank

i cant think of anymore off the top of my dome, but theres plenty. choose your weapons carefully.

I’m fine with any of those places. Someone pick one and give me directions. I’ll be coming in from Oxford by train. Could someone who has access to train schedules tell me what time the train would leave Oxford? I could probably leave any time after noon. I would get into Paddington Station, right? What Underground station should I go to for the pub you choose and where do I walk from the station?

go for www.thetrainline.com and type oxford to london paddington. that will give you all the timetable options you need, plus its the cheapest. i think its around £14 for a day return to london.

if no-one has objections, the Ship on wardour streets my favourite.
its between oxford circus tube and tottenham court road. its about 5 mins walk either. simply get on bakerloo line at paddington, its 5 stops down to oxford circus. you can swop lines (to central) to get to TCR

a map right about where the ‘O’ in soho is, thats where the ship is. scroll right on the map and thats where oxford circus is.

1.30/2pm?

cheers
