two dopers in one! me and my dear friend zyzzyva23 , back in december of 2000 when I went to San Francisco to visit oldscratch for the first time. (snerk anyone remember those days?!) I got a job with that hair, by the way.
You know what I hate? When you see someone’s photo and you IMMEDIATELY think, “Oh, he looks just like…” and then you can’t find the name that flew through your head for a nanosecond. All I was able to retrieve this time through was “that football player.” Help me out? Who do people tell you you look like? Cuz you look just like him.

It’s neither one of those. I keep thinking it’s a football player who was also an announcer or commentator or whatever, OR possibly he became an actor, because I’m also certain he has a southern accent. (And it’s a compliment from me as well - whoever it is, he’s a good looking guy and looking like him is in no way a bad thing.)
However, in fairness I should point out that I am the one in a group who always says things like, “you know, that actor, what’s his name, it starts with an L… la, le, lo… MARTIN BALSAM!”

The wife has updated what she’s labeled her As Time Goes By folder. Rather than link to all of the photos individually, anyone who is interested can see them here all on one page and click to enlarge.
The photos are all in chronological order now and represent our journeys to different places and passage through time. The first one, on the Big Island of Hawaii, was many years ago when we first started dating; it was our first trip together. The rest cover only the past 14 years, and the places represented here are Hawaii (the Big Island and Kauai), New Mexico, Indonesia (Java and Bali), Nepal, Singapore, Laos, Thailand (of course) and China. The list is incomplete, but I’m sure she’ll be working on it some more.
The one in Mukdahan looks like I’m punching her in the face! But really it was a windy day, and I was holding the hair back out of her face for the photo.
There’s no one I’d rather travel through time with.
