It’s still pretty much wait and see. His lungs have improved a little and he responded to his brother’s voice. They will keep him in a coma for the next couple weeks and if he improves they’ll try weaning him off the respirator. We are more hopeful everyday.
When he improves they will transport him to Phoenix for rehabilitation. His fiancee lives there and she wants him close. He will have permanent lung damage, so it looks like he won’t be driving truck any longer.
The only explanation they have come up with is that even though he was driving dry box, he was in a lot that had refers (refrigerated trailers) in it. They think one of the refers must have been leaking and he breathed in Freon.
Now if he just gets better before his mother, fiancee, brothers, grandmother or aunt punch out the psycho bitch his father’s married to, things will be good.
I’m glad to hear that he’s somewhat better. So they think it was freon? I was half-expecting them to discover that he was hauling toxic waste or something like that.
I’m still praying for a full recovery.
Just have family keep talking and reading the newspapers to him. He does hear it, even in a medically induced coma and will be in and out of it even though you don’t know it. My own brother(s) both were in induced coma’s and they would remember some things and then talk about some rather funky dreams they had because the TV was always on and you should never listen to TV when on Morphine.
Hopefully he will stay healthy while under. If his lungs are in this shape, he is in prime shape for infection. Pneumonia would be really, really bad right now. Anyone who has a sniffle must stay away from him. I am a germophobe when it comes to this very situation, as I’ve been there, done that.
Who’s responsibility is it for the upkeep of the truck?
