Judging from the preliminary thread, it looks like August 15-17 works out best for Doperéal II. (If, for whatever reason, this weekend is suddenly bad for many, we can of course change the dates.)
So now, less than two months away, it’s time to do some serious planning! Who’s coming, who’s crashing where, things you’d like to do, etc.
A cemetery tour was suggested. I believe Mount Royal Cemetery is giving tours this summer (I’ll look into it). La Ronde (aka Six Flags Over Montreal) was suggested as well - if admission isn’t too expensive, that could be a fun Sunday activity.
Resto suggestions are welcome too, of course.
Everyone who’s anyone will be there! Don’t miss it!
I’ll be there of course. For restaurant suggestions : maybe a chicken place ? Bar-B-Barn or Chalet BBQ perhaps ? for Saturday, maybe an Indian place for Sunday brunch ?
You know, they used to advertise on NBC or something, and I’d see those ads on TV all the time, like, back in the late 80s early 90s. That’d be too funny.
How bout the Jardin Botanique (Botanical Garden)? My sis took her wedding pictures there last week. It was the first time i go to the Chinese part…very beautiful although nothing was blooming…
As far as restaurants…how bout La Belle Province? i’m kiddin i’m kiddin lol
You might (or might not) be surprised to know that we held the highlight of PoutineDope (last October) at LBP…
jools, WTF is Saute-Moutons? Sounds kinky.
detop, you know, Bar B Barn is kinda kitchy… could be fun.
Now, you out-of-towners, if you have an idea of what day you’ll be arriving in town, we can plan activities accordingly.
MsRobyn, it will be a delight to have you & the Doorses. Maybe a bit cramped, what with CuriousCanuck and his dino-on-a-stick, but delightful. We’ll borrow a crib.
It seems La Ronde is a popular idea… I’ll see how much it is.
