Dinner Sunday or Saturday?
Ooh, there’s a CHINATOWN? I want to go to Chinatown! I’ve never been in a Chinatown!
Well, this is looking relatively possible for me. I’ve got commitments on both Friday and Saturday night at 8:00, so if there’s anything happening on Saturday before 4:00 (gotta give myself plenty of leeway, 'cause I can’t be late) or at all on Sunday I can do it.
Sunday: some form of brunch, quite possibly dim sum, even though I stated earlier than dumplings make me vomit.
Later, probably drinks again. I know a relaxed place in the Village that does Karaoke. (Not with the freaky backgrounds like this :D.)
If you want to take Monday off (I will be) you can crash at my place, because I believe lno, Maeglin, and Elenfair will be gone by then.
If anyone’s interested in Greek food (I saw the Casa Greque mention above), there’s an Arahova’s on crescent street.
If matt indeed meant Greek for dinner Sunday and not Saturday, then we’ll go somewhere middle of the road Saturday.
Help me out, here. I don’t want to have to make an executive decision!
And Daer, are you up for a mini-Dope to see Austin Powers in Goldmember? (Thread is somewhere, don’t know…)
And dammit, I wanna see Toronto Dopers at Doperéal!!!
I just want to take you guys to Lafayette on either day. It’s fabulous and they’re wonderful people who deserve the business.
Sunday, then, because that’s the day we’ll probably take a stroll along the Main and St-Denis, so we’ll be in the area.
I don’t know, I think we should go for the Greek on Saturday night and keep up the brunch at Chinatown idea.
Any other suggestions? I mostly go for either sushi (which has already been ixnayed) or fast food
I’m just thinking logistics. If we’re going to tour the Old Port & Old Montreal Saturday evening, I think we should have dinner somewhere more central. And since the Greek place is on the Plateau (rather high up, I might add), and we’ll be strolling on the Main & St-Denis Sunday, then we’d be in the area.
And in terms of fast food, lunch Saturday (informal) must be at La Belle Province. POUTINE!!
[Homer Simpson]Mmmm… poutine.[/Homer Simpson]
Well, I discovered a nice sum of cash today that might make Dopereal a possibility.
Now I just have to figure out how in the BLAZING hell I’m going to get up there. Driving, unless there is someone to drive WITH for a significant portion of the trip, is not really an option because I’m the sort of stubborn mule who would only take three or four breaks of like a minute each. And that could make me possibly end up dead (highway hypnosis, etc).
Anyone wanna meet me halfway, or should I pour some of that $ into roundtrip airfare or a train? (SOME. Not $477, which is what I saw some Montreal tickets going for.)
punha, you know you’ve got a spot in the Evil Bed®…
$477? WTF are you anyway?
near DC, Scott.
And I know ya got a warm spot for me;)
And if you come, it’ll get hot.
And wet!
[sub]d&r for dear life[/sub]
Gooey is more like it.
Woohoo! Only a month to go!
It turns out my dear friend depgrl (post count of 1) might be attending some of the events.
It’ll be interesting to see who frightens who first: her or you nutjobs. depgrl is… special.
She may be special, but there are more of us;) All someone need do is point to the TMI thread.
Wait. That would frighten everybody but me. Oops.
Oh Punha…!
Do any Montreal Dopers know of a particularly good dim sum place? I’m not familiar with it at all.
And we have to decide on where to go for dinner on Saturday. I think we’ve got Sunday dinner covered (the Greek place matt suggested).
