scott, to be honest, that movie frightens me a little. I don’t know if I can take watching Mike Meyers dislocate his hips. But I’ll try, for you. D’you still have my number?
Dislocate his hips?

One of the best places in Montreal to go eat, and get great coffee, is Santropol on the corner of St-Urbain and Duluth. You can walk there from St Denis, it’s just at the top of the fun part, and it’s got a fantastic terrace that makes me think of a private garden or arboretum. Coffee is cheap and made from fair-trade beans, food is all organic and portions are generous. Vegans and people allergic to anything but wheat gluten are catered to, staff are polite (although slow), but reservations are HIGHLY advisable on the weekend. It occurred to me that I haven’t even taken Daer there yet, so if you guys want to fit it into the times I can join you all (either Saturday before 2PM or Sunday) then I heavily recommend you all get a taste of what the Plateau was like before the yuppies moved in!
scott, haven’t you seen the previews? ICK. Like, to the max. But I’ll survive. Watch your email.
loupdebois: you start work at TWO on saturday? Remind me to shoot your supervisor.
OWEN?!?!
Holy shit, I better start watching the TMI I post!
Happy Dance!
It looks like I will indeed be able to make it to Doperéal!!!
I will be movingmostof my big, heavy stuff the weekend prior to the dopefest and should be able to go off to Montreal with my SO in tow (we need a bit of a holiday).
Happy, happy, joy, joy!
Yay! I get to see the stunning Charmian again!
The Wonder Woman doll will be attending all events. She’s coming out of the closet, baby!
In any case, I’ve got Friday the 23rd and Monday the 26th off, so those staying with me can arrive and leave whenever. (I believe lno will be arriving the Thursday night.)
Now, let me just tackle this disaster of an apartment…
Hmm. Prices for airfare are looking reasonable (under $200 roundtrip), which decreases the odds of me attempting The Road-Trip from Hell (hey, I had to take five friggin’ breaks going back to VA from Columbus after ChiDope, and I sure as hell ain’t driving down from Canadia after this shindig!).
scott, what time would be ideal for arriving either Thursday night or Friday morning (taking note of the lack of punctuation:))?
pun, Thursday night would be better, but Friday morning is do-able. lno is arriving by car Thursday night, so I have to be here to let greet him. If you come in Friday morning, I need to know at what time, so that I can be awake. You’ll have to take a cab from Dorval Airport, unless if by some miracle lno and I can wake up and pick you up.
More details to come.
Thursday night it is, then, if I do come (still not a definite).
Grrr. Two weeks to go, and no decision on the restaurant for Saturday evening, dagnabbit. I don’t want to have to make an executive decision, but if we’re going to be a large group, I have to make the reservation within a couple of days.
Dinner Sunday will be at the Greek place. Saturday I put forth Dundee’s on Crescent and Moe’s on de la Montagne. A LONG TIME AGO. ::fake mad:: We need to decide on a place so I can make a reservation, and so that I can post the itinerary of events with addresses and phone numbers of the establishments, as well as meeting places, times, etc.
[David Banner]Don’t make me angry. You wouldn’t like me when I’m angry.[/David Banner]
::starts to grow rippling muscles and turn green:: Damn, another shirt ruined.
Oh my god, it’s only two weeks away?
::worries::
This is going to be an expensive weekend for me. It might be fifty bucks just for GAS the way my Cherokee sucks it down, plus food and drinks and entertainment and …
Oh dear…
::worries::
OK, I’ve an exucutive decision. Saturday dinner will be at Moe’s Deli and Barm followed by a stroll through Old Montreal and the Old Port. Assuming I can a rervation for a plarhe group, I’ll let you all know of the date, time, and location.
Allso, for out-of-towners, and those who don’t know my number, please emaiil me at scott_evil28@hotmaiil.com. I’ve give you my number.
For those styhing with me, email me at scott_evvil28@hotmail.com for directions and so on.
I meant scctt_evil28@hotmail.com … ooops.
Um, scott, are you having an evening, um, influenced by something. Let me help you out dear. That’s scott_evil28@hotmail.com.
Thank you, thank you, put your change in the jar on the way out.
I’d offer to carpool up with you in my car, racin, which I’m thinking guzzles less than yours does, but right now I’m thinking if I do go to this dig it won’t be me doing much, if any, driving. That would make it difficult to drive to your place.
And I’m leaning toward no ATM, just because I’d like to have more than five cents to my name come September.
OMG. I’m pissing my pants laughing at my own post. I am sofa kind we Todd did. Let’s just say I was celebrating the eve of the last day of freedom before my manager returns on Monday.
Damn you, Ryan (best friend). Not only do you foist your bunny on me, you’re also bad influence on me.
Can a mod delete this? Please?
Damn, punha, I’m so disappointed.
My flight’s all booked. I land at ten to seven Friday night.
Deli and romantic walks in the old country sound pleasant for Saturday evening, but I’ll be damned if I miss visiting Montreal without hitting either a trance party or an industrial music show. Any suggestions for venue? Anyone else interested?
I’m out of the loop, so I don’t know if these places are still open, but there’s Playground on Amherst St., and Sona on Bleury St. It’s not my scene, but I can give you my spare keys for when you get back.
I’m also glad you’ll be arriving before we all meet up at Drugstore (which, BTW, is close to Playground). Otherwise you’d have had to join us there, baggage in tow. Plus it’s outside the “cab-from-airport-fixed-rate-to-downtown ($28)” zone.
