Update: My brother and I are en route – currently, I’m sitting in the back seat of my Altima flying up 75 just south of Valdosta, with brother driving. God bless wireless Internet. If we can keep up the speed we are currently traveling, we’ll be pulling into Cartersville right around 5:30 / 6. How many do we have confirmed for Sunday?
OhFace and I will probably be leaving for GA at around 7:30 or 8:00pm tonight after I get off work. We might make a sleep detour to Orlando to visit my brother (whom I’m trying to get to come, but he’s blowing it). This is a first dopefest for both of us. OhFace should actually be getting into my town in about half an hour at which point we go to the liquor store on my break to buy a bottle of scotch.

WHERE: Red Top Mountain State Park, Exit 287 off I-75. Picnic Shelter #7 (The “Bomb Shelter”), near the beach and miniature golf. Drive down the hill across the causeway to get to our island.
WHEN: 2pm, Sunday, August 29th
Plus stuff Friday and Saturday evenings, as they pop up.
WHERE TO STAY: Motels in Acworth, Cartersville, or Emerson, GA are all nearby. There may also be cabins available at the park. But make your arrangements fast!

I am staying next door to a target and am going to buy some gear, I saltwater fish all the time at home and didn’t realize that this place was a great fishing lake.
Sunday morning, I am going to check out boat rental prices and perhaps rent me a boat and go fishin’ afore the dope stocking begins. I’ve never fished freshwater, but every time I saltwater fish, I bring back something worth eating… should I save what I catch for someone to cook for the dopers?

The ice cream will be going into the freezer in a little bit. The banananana pudding is cooling in the fridge. I’ll make the pimento cheese either late tonight or early in the morning, and assemble the sandwiches tomorrow.

Just got home a little bit ago from the soiree at NinetyWt’s cabin. She put out a great spread (thanks!) and we all hung out and laughed a lot. We were even treated to a dynamic duo of song (Quasi on git-fiddle and NinetyWt singin’). We’re all looking forward to seeing everyone tomorrow afternoon (2:00 pm) at picnic shelter #7!
DopeStock’04 was a huge success with 100% attendance, (excluding those who RSVP’d us earlier).
I want to thank EarthPuppy and NinetyWt (and husband) for going “all out” with the food. It was a smorgasboard such as I will never forget.

Also enjoyed the Friday/Saturday nights with EP NW and husband and with Bambi and his bro’. Y’all are some cool Dudes.
Special thanks also to those of you who drove those long distances to come to see us at Red Top Mountain.

btw, I bestowed the Award Necklace upon Flander for traveling the farthest. His response was, “Wow, I got the Biggest Banana Award!” so it won’t be an item in my next White Elephant swap.
That was fun guys! Torie and I finally made it back to Greenvegas despite some ‘interesting’ traffic. The food was awesome, as was the music. Thanks to those who bought my Edentrap crap, I appreciate it! Hope to see you guys again soon.
