Special props to all those who came from out of state to join us - what extra effort!
Don’t know about those of y’all in other parts of town, but when I got home, I discovered that we had a rather substantial thunderstorm in Decatur - weren’t we lucky with the weather!
And what a splendid facility! Beautiful view of all sides of the lake from our little penisula. And wasn’t it handy that the picnic shelter came equipped with guitar stands?
What? Those belonged to Quasi? Good thing I gathered them up, then!
Quasi, I’ll make arrangements to get them back to you, dood!
OhFace and I had an awesome time. I’m glad to finally put some faces to names. Definitely worth the trip to come out. The trip back was a bit arduous,but we pushed throug it. I think I got home at like 3:30am. I’m at work now trying to keep my eyes open. Great place, great people, great weekend.
I had a good time too! Thanks to everyone for putting up with Bouncer, the poster-dog for separation anxiety. And Quasi, you can tune a guitar, you’re just not familiar with electronic tuners! Thanks for letting me use the guitar. My fingertips will be sore for days.

Whew finally made it home!!
We had an absolutely fabulous time!! We enjoyed visiting with everyone, especially the get-togethers on Friday and Saturday night. I’d post more, but I’m like Flander, just too pooped!

Saturday night, some palmetto-bug lookin’ thang got into NW and Mr. NW’s cabin, and it lighted on that delicious dip of hers that was in a hollowed out loaf of bread.
Well, I tried to swat it off, but here comes The Weight, picks it up gently between her thumb and forefinger and takes it out onto the front porch while me and EarthPuppy looked on in astonishment!
That friggen thing screamed bloody murder when she picked it up, but I bet it thanked its lucky stars it got out alive!

First, I’d like to apologize to the GeoBills, Sauron, and Aries for not visiting more on Sunday. I was just sooo distracted !! I hope next time we can visit more.
Next, I want you all to know that Quasi brought me a beautiful bouquet on Friday night. We packed it carefully away, and tonight it graces my kitchen table. <blows a kiss to Quasi>
Also, earthpuppy is just like a long-lost friend. Those who haven’t met her yet are in for a treat !! We had soooo much fun shopping, then gabbing . . …
The Florida Brothers (Bambi and Dan Turk) are Fabulous, just fabulous. Such great chefs !! I love you guys, I really do !!
And then on Sunday, LabDad, Bruce Daddy, ArcherGal and Flander entertained us. What a treat !! (ArcherGal, Bouncer was fine! So much better than my furry people would have been).
The park was gorgeous, but the company stellar. I haven’t enjoyed myself so in many, many moons. We’d like to do this again !!
P.S. : as many suspected, we came back to the unmistakeable signs of a party having been held in our absence. Most of the stuff was picked up but … we had to raise an eyebrow on the two blankets covering the dog bed. The confession came out … one of the “guests” had spent the night on the dog bed. All together now:

Well, I was feeling a little too headachey to be as sociable as usual, so don’t feel too bad. I’m sorry we didn’t make it up to the cottage Friday or Saturday, but the scheduling just didn’t work out. Maybe next time.
Sorry I wasn’t more happy on Sunday, I was nursing a cold.
I had a great time anyway. It was nice to see everyone.

I’m sorry I missed the party. I don’t have time to look at the pictures, but I’m sure I missed out on a great time. When I finally get back home, I will check them out.
Getting back home might actually be a while, since there is ANOTHER hurricane on the way, and I’ll probably be asked to help save Florida once again. I’ll possibly make it home this weekend, but I’ll just be called up again on Monday :sigh:
