Oh, I am so going to be humming that tune all day tomorrow…“a man’s gotta do what a man’s gotta do”
The offical Dr. Horrible Twitter is giving this temp, which seems to work: http://www.drhorrible.com.nyud.net/act_I.html
That was awesome. I’ll definitely be buying the DVD when it comes out.
With a side of extra Awesome and a super-size Awesome-Cola.
I’m curious - is it just Whedon fans that are reading this thread and loving this thing? I’m curious to know if we’re a biased audience - would love to know what people not fans of Whedon think
I’m a non-Whedonite, and I loved it. The whole premise- love triangle involving amateur supervillain and superhero- is amusing. And now I have Bad Horse’s jingle stuck in my head.
I just replayed that freeze ray song 3 times. Damn you Whedon! Total awesomeness squared. Again.
Gah, every link mentioned here is down! Must have!
Hmmm, let’s see, ah! Available to download here. <—spy outfit
Yes, I have indeed seen Mr Fillion’s firm, fine fundament in all its radiant glory–as a matter of fact I am so happy I live in a digital age, for if it were otherwise I would have to replace and replace VHS tapes when the applicable sections were worn to a staticky frazzle. I have to wonder if the front matches the rear in majesty…
That was frakkin’ funny! I gotta watch it again–and again, and perhaps again!
the fan site is still working LOL - of course, you can’t actually watch Act 1 there, you can see the teaser - and find out the latest updates on server issues and all other things Dr Horrible related www.doctorhorrible.net
http://www.drhorrible.com.nyud.net/ seems to be working fine though.
hmmm… do we really have to post pirate sites here when there’s a more official link http://www.drhorrible.com.nyud.net/ that works…not to mention the ability to get it from iTunes…
There’s also an online comic story starring Captain Hammer written by Zack Whedon. He seems like a strong-yet-stupid hero- my favorite.
“Pass me the science ingredient!”
::snicker::
Please do not link to sites with pirated videos or other illegally-copied files.
Thanks SkipMagic - I hate to see the guys that have worked so hard to create this entertainment get ripped off - especially when they’re allowing people to watch it for free (granted there have been some hitches along the way) before having the option of buying it - they’ve done an outstanding job and a lot of people haven’t been paid for their work yet - they deserve to be rewarded for their effort
That is equally killer.
I’m a dinosaur still on dail up, so I don’t do vid things. But I really want to see this! I have a friend with high speed access but she not really savvy to the stuff either. Is there a way she can save it on her computer, and burn it to a disk so she can mail it to me? Or is this one of those things that can’t be saved?
(In case it affects things, both of us have WinXP.)
Either way, I promise to buy the DVD once it’s available. I just don’t want to wait.
Am I the only one who, at the first mention of the words “freeze ray,” flashed back to that episode of Buffy with the evil trio (Warren, Jonathan, Andrew) and their totally different kind of freeze ray?
I’m grateful that you started this thread and made me aware of Dr. Horrible, and I fully support the board rule about pirate/illegal sites, but how exactly would the guys be getting ripped off? They’re providing the content for free, and in the brief minute I was able to access the official site yesterday I didn’t notice any ads. Is there ad content on the nyud.net site that’s profiting Whedon et al?
For $2. Which some of us are willing to pay up front, but for others it defeats the point of “allowing people to watch it for free … before having the option of buying it.”
The content will only be free until the 20th after that it’s iTunes or wait for the DVD release. But by promoting illegal sources now, they’re still going to be around when the 20th comes and goes… so there is logic to my argment
For another reason to not link to copies, the official site can keep track of total number of viewers and Whedon and company can use that as an argument when pitching similar shows to producers in the future, for advertising, etc. Seeing the video on pirate sites deflates these numbers.
Not to mention that pirate sites are evil scum-sucking losers in general.
