No, present status is suspended for two weeks for having a second user account. The change to “suspended” under the username instead of “banned” is in process.
He was suspended for this post. I admit it’s kind of funny, but you can’t do that. Pending further discussion by the mods, it’s a suspension rather than an outright banning because it was clearly intended to be a stupid joke rather than a deception.
I was gonna say to cut the guy a damn break; it’s April fool’s, FFS. Then I clicked the link and saw he missed the mark by 3 days. Bad dog, no biscuit!
I can’t complain about the suspension. It is the clearest rule on the board. I do hope you don’t make it a banning due to the circumstances.
Clearly it was a lapse in judgment, but he makes valuable contributions and has never engaged in similarly borderline behavior before. It would be very unfortunate not to see him return.
Now, going off of recent history, which one of the posters in this thread is drachillix?

How ridiculous is this? The rule against socks is to prevent people from trolling or allowing them to debate dishonestly with their alternate persona. This is a case of mistaking the rule for the underlying reason it exists in the first place. Gimmick accounts are funny when well done. Saving us from Jesus H. Christ and The Grapist is a waste of time and a pointless downer.
