DST in the MMP

Of all the raw ground meats, sausage is the wurst.
I’ll be here all week. Tip the veal, and try the waitress

Woo hoo! And Monkey ignores it?

Also an interesting

Rough week. Sorry about Whisper, BooFae and favorite aunty, Flyboy. Hope the itchiness and knee get better Nellie.

I’ll be watching this space for tales of the new tails.

Our kitchen is now very clean. Very, very clean. Hint - if you want to get motivated to do a deep clean of all the surfaces, just burn popcorn on the stove. It’s very motivating.

Either we have to make popcorn more often, so we remember these little tricks (get the bowls out before starting the popping process, so they are ready to go) or write better notes.

Made a loaf-shaped Angel Food cake this morning, to use up 6 egg whites. It’s my favorite cake, but it doesn’t last long. So I’ll be making the apple pie with cream cheese (which I think is from FCM). Since I want to take it to work, I’m going to try to make it in two loaf pans. The area is about the same, so I just have to watch the cooking time.

Currently sitting with my feet up and waiting for the wind to bring rain. Even planted a few peas and basil seeds outside, plus some more basil and lavender outside. We’ll see what happens.

Happy Sunday!

On the contrary: I am the fortunate one.

Good morning everyone.

It’s currently 43 degrees and cloudy, with an expected high of around 60. Rain is supposed to move in around 5:00 pm.

I didn’t get to get much of anything done in the backyard yesterday, but I’m going to try and get a little more done today. I also need to do laundry, although I won’t have much to do, since I did a couple loads yesterday.

nellie, I’m sorry your knee is still hurting. I hope it improves soonest!

I had all sorts of trouble sleeping last night. I finally managed to snag an hour or two this morning and ended up getting up at around 7:00 this morning. Still too late for me to be waking up. It’s a waste of daylight or sanctioned goof-off time!

I hope you all have a good day!

Please provide a link.

Now you’re being a brat.

What a cool gig! And a very good deed, indeed, to boot.

You just have to make sure they’re not made of stainless steel. Bad for the snake’s digestion, donchaknow.

So hanging out with us doesn’t count as “doing something?”

{sniff} I see how it is … :frowning:

He’s never shown the slightest interest in Mousie, but when it’s actually feeding time, I have to put him outside (or the bathroom or basement, if the weather is bad) and close the door.

He wants to play with/hunt Charm SO BAD he’d never let her eat in peace and I’m afraid he’d swat & hurt her.

Get off your fainting couch; it’s just for maybe 10 minutes, tops, probably less. He’ll live.

… and that’s how you know a marriage is strong & good.

We lead … different lives. I got up at 12:30 and was like, “This is way too f’ing early, I wanna go back to sleep!”

In my defense, last night was Long Night and I close again tonight.

Well, I never had my cereal last night - I polished off some Dumb Soup and a slice of good bread with chive cream cheese, primarily because they were right in front of me on my tornado-aftereffect of a coffee table, and I didn’t wanna hafta get up - so there’s some Cheerios in my near future.

I accomplished very little yesterday, other than assembling the LEGO drummer (I did the drum kit last weekend):

You can’t tell from this photo, but he has feet and they’re actually on drum pedals!

Last – but definitely not least – are the piano and pianist. I think I’ll start on those after lunch.

Today is cold and windy (currently 35°F but feels like 25°F), and I’m happy to spend another day not leaving my domicile – except to take the doggy out back and put the sheets in the dryer (they went in the washer yesterday). I’m out of bananas, and almost out of apples and cold brew concentrate, so I’m starting to feel a grocery trip coming on but it can wait. Temps are supposed to warm up tomorrow, and gradually increase this week: they’re calling for a high of 73°F on Thursday!

Lunchtime.

I thought about doing something like that for a while, but then I put a large storage ottoman at the foot of the bed and that’s working well for now. I might wind up getting rid of the bed frame at some point, though: I have no storage, so it would just have to go. Which I wouldn’t mind, and I’ve identified a platform bed I really like, but it would be a pain to coordinate everything (and expensive) so I’m putting it off until the ottoman stops working.

Very recently, she has started struggling (sometimes) to get on the couch. I may wind up getting something like this for the living room. That one might be too small for her to feel comfortable using, though, so I’m also considering a slightly larger footstool/ottoman…they get pricey quickly!

Knock it off, you two!

Alright, alright, since I’m up and tonight is Trash Bin to Curb Night - and I’ll be getting off after it’s gotten dark & cold - I sighed, and put on those Big Girl Panties everyone keeps recommending.

Monkey now has a clean litter box, all the trash has been collected and tossed, the bin has been dragged to the curb (so I got to cancel my 1 a.m. reminder to do so!) and have performed a very minimal start at K.P. although realistically, I’d rather tackle that tomorrow on my Blessed Day Off.

Time for some well-deserved Sitting On Butt time, before dragging my carcass back to irk. There’s only 2 closers tonight, me & a lady with whom I get along well (plus a manager, obvs. but she can’t really help with closing duties; she’s doing manager-y stuff like counting $$) so it probably won’t be a fast close. Bah.

Alright, time to round up a bowl of milk and have those Cheerios I keep promising myself … oh, looky, half a joint!

I have been a little bit productive; I broke down a bunch of cardboard in the garage and stuffed it into the recycle bin. I don’t know why my husband lets it stack up. Drives me nuts!

I bought this for Brandi when she was still alive, but we kept it for Polar. We put it next to the loveseat AKA Polar’s couch and he uses it as a step to get up. He couldn’t get up there without it. It used be right in front of the fireplace so both the dogs could lie on it and stare at the fire. Polar pretty much let Brandi use it most of the time, but he occasionally will lie down on it. It’s very comfy, actually. Big honkin’ dog bed

Back to tidying around the house and yard.

Afternoon all. Dinner has been consumed and is digesting happily in my belly. Still cold out although the sky is blue and pretty, have to determine if I’m going to the gym or not (it closes at 6pm on the weekends). Will be doing youth soccer stuff 4 of the next 5 days so that will help keep me active.

Oopsie, your Lego project looks nice. Your weather projections sound much like mine, it’s due to make it to 75F by Thorsday if the Weather Wizards are right (but it will then rain on Friday, of course…).

Shoe beat me too it, Hippie; you two are good people and I’m happy you found each other.

OK, back to digesting. Have a good afternoon all.

Oh, I see you caught my act at The Spearmint Rhino last night …

Just call me Patty.

Similarly, if you ignore burnt-on spills in the oven long enough, they’ll gross you out enough to run the self-clean cycle. Which reminds me - I still need to wipe the ash out of the oven from the self-clean cycle…

Back from getting kibbles at WalMart and gathering some dimensions at the Air Museum. FCD is firing up the pellet stove in his shop so he can build the two adapters for the display of a camera from an RA-5. I need to clean the critter fountain now, then back to my so-called book.

I say so-called because it sucks so bad, it never should have been published. But I’ve still got to see how all the drama is resolved. Among the awfulness - the author loves the word rasp/rasped to describe how the characters speak in the throes of passion. I also love how in a matter of a couple of months, the shy, timid, insecure woman who was forced into an arranged marriage to an arrogant peer by her asshole of a father - anyway, she’s grown a pair and now she’s a brave, assertive, clever heroic figure who is suddenly in love with her arrogant peer of a husband because he introduced her to orgasms… or something… Honest to goodness, I don’t see how this thing got published - it’s worse than the cheezy, predictable historical romances I’ve been feasting upon of late. Oh, yeah, and her brother in law and the former vicar of her village are spies for Napoleon Bonaparte. Seriously - it’s awful. Three more chapters to go…

Howdy Y’all! We deheathenated, got back to da cave, had sammiches and achieved nappage. Plus the biiiiiiiiiiiiig trash can has been hauled all the way down to the road for pickup tomorrow. Quite the flurry of activity for us anyway. Now chillage and sloth continues.

Carry on.

Hot dog!!

The local franchise of Spearmint Rhino was one of the strangest service calls of my career. I was there before opening to test their fire alarm. The service entrance opened into the manager’s office. The door out of the manager’s office opened up right into the dressing room for the dancers. When I got there at 11.00am or so it was just the manager and the bartender. I started testing, which required a trip to the manager’s office between each smoke detector to reset the panel. By 11.30 the girls were all there getting ready for their shift that started at noon. They just ignored the alarms sounding and the old guy walking through their room.

[Snoop Dogg]Fo sizzle![/Snoop Dogg]

Winding down the day. I got quite a bit done in the studio. Supper was a new recipe that I tried (Al Kabsa, aka Arabic chicken and rice). I think with a couple of tweaks, it’s a keeper. Alas, there’s irk tomorrow.

Same. The 6th grade nun accused me of cheating on a science test; ruined science for me for the rest of my education through college. As far as Hubs, his neutriphylls are way up so that is great, his platelets are constantly somewhat low but better than last year; however, his leg is not good. The results of the ultrasound are posted on his MyChart but we’re not medical professionals so he’ll contact his PCP and Hemotologist/Oncologist in the a.m.

Daughter and Bella left 2 hrs ago; it was a very good visit! :heart_decoration:

It’s half time of the MSU-Marquette game. We’re up by 5 although we were up by 12 at one point. #GoGreen
