DST in the MMP

So after the regular Smalls heave, I was over at the 200 slide. Which was a mess. 3 bulk stops, a bunch of miscellaneous big boxes, plus a jigsaw puzzle of 5 chewed up clothes orders. But an 8 hour day makes dogbutler’s wallet very happy. So I took a quick nap, and am having a Vieux Carré and some afternoon hockey.

I have vacation the week after Easter, so I’m going to the county animal shelter. :dog: :cat:

They have some good cheap beers. Oh, and food, too.

Said that on more than one Saturday night. But hope you can survive the shift.

O_W actually we are countin’ on you to organize the pervfest.

oopsie, I’ll likely need to get a set of steps for Nelson when I buy my next bed. Whenever we spend the night elsewhere, he’s had issues jumping up that high. Shoot, a taller bed would likely mean that I would need a step to avoid pole vaulting into it.

cat glove, I don’t go for a fancy travel mug, so I went to where I usually buy them: Goodwill. Cost me a whole $2.99 + tax for a nice 20 oz, steel walled, insulated mug. The model would likely have cost me $25-30 retail and this one still had the retail store sticker on the bottom, so it had never been used. I’m guessing that it was gifted to someone who didn’t want it.

Mailed a few cards, made a Goodwill stop (I also got a pretty throw pillow), stopped at Sprout’s for some barley and hit the grocery outlet before coming home. I had a gnawin’ and a cravin’ for ribs, so Nelson and I hit the drive thru around the corner. I forgot how big their portions were, so now I’m stuffed and have a couple ribs for breakfast.

Now to mess around in the studio.

I saved you a seat at my table.

I’ll work on that as soon as I finish my next shift at The Spearmint Rhino!

I’m honored - more sort porn, please! I miss that. :frowning:

We can take turns being the Mistress of Ceremonies!

I’ll try to document more of it.

Hiya, pals. I was itchy earlier today, but the meds helped quiet it down. Counting the biweekly shots, I’m on 7 anti-itch meds, some at fairly high doses. However, I’m grateful that I’m getting relief.

My knee is worse, dangit. It hurts more and the rest of the knee is somewhat sore, even though I make sure I don’t limp. I managed to get in 4 miles today, but I was making faces the whole time. BUT the weather was gorgeous today. I didn’t need a jackået!

Old Flame called this morning and I regaled him with Tales of Horror from Catholic school. He went to public school, where apparently the teachers didn’t whack kids, so he kept saying, “Holy sh-t, Nellie!” (I only got in trouble once, but it was a doozy, and I was innocent.)

Taters, Happy Cake Day! SO glad you’re among us!

CatGlove, when I was driving, one of my requirements for a water bottle/mug was that it fit in the cupholder. It’s amazing how many don’t. I hope you get some good and positive news on your husband’s blood work.

When he’s working on the boat, does he worry about other stuff, or is he able to focus completely on what he’s doing. Also, I know this is a stupid question, but…

What does “on the hard” mean? Dry dock???

I see the rest of you have snapped up or been assigned all the fun uh, positions at the Perv Fest. I guess that makes me the custodian. I’ll be mopping and saying things like, “Excuse me, sir, but could you lift your…uh…um…todger so I can mop?” and “Yes, Ma’am, I’m very impressed you can do the Pervy Pretzel like a professional pole dancer, but the thing is, management doesn’t like people to use the pole lamps for that.”

I survived. Didn’t even barf! Go me!

It was snowing so hard several times it looked like we were living in a snowglobe. Stuff was comin’ down sideways, man.

Luckily it’s been warm-ish so the ground & roads melted some of the initial stuff, so the drive home wasn’t as bad as I’d feared.

Currently sitting in my papasan in those massage boots, smoking a very well-deserved bowl, and
occasionally being pounced on by an excited twerp of a Monkey.

I did have 2 scrambled eggs and a piece of sourdough before work, but I only nibbled while there, so I need to convince myself to eat more.

But that would require getting up my gawd. (Cue pose of woe.)

Oh, hey, I have fresh milk! Think a bowl of cereal for dinner is gonna be my best bet.

All y’all have a good night/morning.

so tell me how does this work? Do you just leave it in the wrapper and in some water like you do the meat for dinner ? or can you defrost it in a microwave? when I had my snakes the frozen food had just started coming around but expensive so I never used it

Either way works fine. Microwave carries a risk of overheated spots, especially with something so small, so sometimes I’ll just leave it on a sunny spot on the counter while I do other stuff, in its bag, and occasionally poke it. Once it’s soft, it’s snack time!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 41 Amurrkin out and clear with a predicted high of 53 and N.O.S. for the day. The big item on today’s agenda is deheathenization. I have Slackolyte duty. After that we shall return to da cave for a sammich N.O.L. and sloth. Any need to feed today will be via forage.

Nellie glad you’re less itchy but sorry the knee is still sore. Hope it’s better today.

shoe thaw and eat mice really sounds like a snake convenience food. I am oh so fascinated by the concept!

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence.

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Up caffeinat, and sheveled. Off today. The usual cleaning and sloth shall now commence.

“If the dock is a rockin’, don’t come a knockin’”
Hope the knee feels better today.

“Take and snake”

Sounds like The Big Lebowski: “The Deacon abides”

Here’s our last boat on the hard. It’s when you’re in the boatyard for maintenance, repair, or storage - obviously on a hard surface rather than floating. It’s a yachty word.

When he’s working on the boat, even when he’s not physically on the boat, he’s mentally planning and reviewing. Like yesterday when we were having lunch, he was drawing diagrams to show me how he was running fuel lines. And it’s not limited to boats. When we were remodeling the house, many a napkin in many a restaurant was left covered with sketches - it’s an engineer thing.

I know I didn’t mention this, but there’s a Naval Aviation Museum in town. A couple of men who volunteer there know FCD from his pre-retirement job. They’ve asked him if he could do some design and manufacturing for the museum and he’s agreed. They’ve got a BIIIIIIIIIIG vintage camera that they can’t display because the stand was made wrong and FCD is going to build some adapters for it. But he has to get some measurements and since it’s going to be cold today, I think he’ll do that rather than freeze on the boat.

Anyway, I’m thinking I’ll drop him off at the museum, then run to WalMart because I need a sack o’ dog kibbles and a few toiletries. By the time I get my erranding done, he should be done what he’s got to do. So that will be today.

That’s as far ahead as I’ve thought. Caffeination has yet to kick in.

Happy Sunday!!

ETA:

Speaking of pervs… :stuck_out_tongue:

Hope that the knee feels better soonest nellie.

Up, caffeinating, breakfasted and fixing to do KP and Sunday chores. Not a lot of excitement at CasaRoja.

Stay safe and healthy y’all!

Morning all. It’s below freezing this morning (26F) and only getting to the low 40’s today, so even if the weather is clear and N.O.S., probably a good day to stay in and watch basketball. Due to warm up during the week, however, so more soccer is on-tap. The Sunday dinner schedule shows Meatloaf at Logan’s Roadhouse for dinner, and that suits me quite well.

shoe, much thanks, I now know that frozen mice exist and you can defrost them…so my knowledge has been increased for the week.

nellie, hope the knee gets to feeling better.

OK, ned to finish waking up now. All y’all have a good Sunday…

Happy Sunday!

No park this morning because nobody else was going. It was, and still is, 24 feels like 13 degrees.
If I had known I would have stayed in bed longer.

My son just gathered up all the recycling, which is usually my job.
I need to get up off my ass and do something. The dishwasher needs loading, and I need to make another batch of dog food today. I’m working on a grocery list, since my son is laid off, we can shop on senior discount day.

The neighbor’s cat must be in heat again, she is meowing her head off.

At least somebody’s warm. it’s a balmy 35 degrees(ferret height) right now

I had one breakfast where the sausage was raw (and showed the server) and when I politely asked for non-raw sausage they returned burnt into inedible charcoal. Fuck me for not wanting raw sausage I guess.
