Yojimbo, it seems to me that as long as:
a) details are neither asked for nor posted, and
b) opinions about Tuba’s punishment are withheld,
then such threads as this are allowed. I don’t see where Ed Zotti is putting the kibbosh on anything else (as of this writing).
Airman Doors and you may have a broad interpretation of Ed Zotti’s post, which is fine. Others, however, will have a narrower interpretation (i.e. if it’s it not specifically forbidden, it’s fair game for discussion).

In a way, except vanilla brought it upon herself. She started a Pit thread about some people at her church; she later sent them a link. This led to the pastor getting involved in the thread, vanilla being suspended and subsequently banned by Tuba.

There are at least 4 current members here who at one time held moderator status. Three of them (myself being one) stepped down for our own reasons and the other was terminated involuntarily.
AFAICT, her only involvment with A was that she posted the gist of his email asking to be reinstated. Dex had already opened the door to that, though.

I’ll tackle these one at a time. I’m not very proficient with quote tags, so please bear with me.
- I imagine, given the number of posters and opinions on this board, that this situation will come up again, if not with TD, then with another mod. It’ll get dealt with as the staff feels is appropriate. I’ve not been given any indication that ‘the members’ or any significant majority, view this incident as the travesty you believe it to be.
2)It’ll get dragged up by some, I suppose, and then I’d hope they’d get shouted down for hijacking.
3)If they break posting rules to show their outrage, i guess so. if you’re only purpose behind sticking around is to hound someone else, then you might want to find a better use for your money.
4)I think that a cookie cutter, zero-tolerance policy is a worse example than taking all variables into account. I’ll not go into details, but the reason I still support TD is because, due to the nature of this particular incident, I don’t feel as though my info, financial or otherwise, is in jeopardy. You are free to feel differently. Though some try to dismiss motive, I think that it plays the largest part in her actions, and hedges against a repeat performance. Plus, there is her exemplary record of service to all of us.
- We ARE paying customers- and if the outcome doesn’t suit you, you are free to vote with your dollar. But a customer is not a shareholder, not a staff member, and not an administrator, so stop it with ‘the customer is always right’ stuff.
As long as you’ve got nothing to worry about, why give a shit about anyone else? You’ve got a reaaly good reason to support her there Stonebow. “Who cares about how malicious her actions were, I’ve got nothing to worry about”.
Seconded. Those “I’m a paying customer here!” posts have been all over these discussions and they really piss me off. Paying $4.95 or $14.95 a year did not magically transform you into an emperor and all the moderators and administrators into your servants. Don’t like it? Feel free to piss off and find another message board where the staff will fawn all over you for your five bucks a year.
