Duck Duck Goose. TubaDiva evangelism.

Lynn did it to support Mehitabel in her obsession. Here’s is the thread Aldebaran made on it.

Look all of you, you scream now at TubaDiva. You’ve kept your mouth good shut then, except of a few. The admins made nothing out of it too, they attacked cause he made that thread. It was brushed away by all of you but for a few.
You’ve no idea about lives of others who post here. You’ve no idea what he had to be concerned with about his privacy on the internet. Let alone when he got on a message board where he left his traces by posting too.
I can tell you that what Lynn did caused Aldebaran serious worries and costed him money too. You’ve seen someone here coming forward to refund him that? Not a thank you from the admins that he didn’t cause them trouble over it, not an apology from Lyn he’s got. And overhere the posts of Lynn got used by the nutty woman and her clique to harass him even more. You know as well as I do that’s what drove him over the edge. It was still used to trash him while he was already banned.

You’re not ashamed now to ask for degradation or even for banning of an other admin cause she did what Lynn did, only she posted her abuse of private information outside the board? You’re hypocrites with double standards. Lynn got nothing, TubaDiva got already worse.
Read that thread of Aldebaran again. You’ll see the admins had no feedback on what was what on the privacy rules.
It should’ve been taken serious THEN and you wouldn’t have the situation of now. Christ, he posted that thread like a loud alarmbell and the sound of it was laughed away and the victim attacked and mocked at. Fucking hypocrites.
For me TubaDiva can come back right now. She’s victim of the mentality that ruled here. Trashing the messenger and protect the offender at all cost. It’s one good thing that there’s a change in that now and Ed should’ve done THEN what he said will be done now. Let’s hope that every admin and mod will know in the future what’s really understood with privacy rules.
Give it a rest.

Greetings.

Xamatix do you ever post about anything else? Jesus Christ, your precious Aldebaran acted like a jerk and was banned. No, that doesn’t justify Lynn’s actions. It doesn’t justify HIS either.

Learn a new song, this one’s getting old.

OK, I’m having trouble finding a coherent thread in this. It’s clear that you think privacy is important and no person has the right to question why another person needs their privacy. I agree. But then you go on to say that because a previous breach was not punished to your satisfaction, it would be hypocritical to punish subsequent breaches such as this one? I don’t get it.

I would think that if privacy is really important to you, you would be pleased that the responses are becoming more serious. As it is, you aren’t pleased. That makes me think that perhaps you want everyone to suffer admins who flagrantly violate privacy rules, because you think people didn’t object enough when it happened to Aldebaraan. Maybe I get it now.

I’m glad you drew my attention to that thread because I wasn’t here at that time. In light of what is going on, I found Ed Zotti’s comments in this post to be particularly fascinating:

Interesting. It seems that there actually was a code of conduct instituted at that time, one that should have applied to the most recent incident. But there was no schedule of penalties attached to it.

To me, that’s the problem that keeps cropping up over and over in this issue. There seems to be no recognition of the fact that occasionally mods/admins will fuck up, and there needs to be a formal way to raise and address those grievances. I’m not talking about a democracy, of course, but something a little more accessible than starting a pit thread saying “Moderator X made a mistake” and then having Moderator X come in and say “tough shit, douchebag” or have an admin say “This mistake was so horrible that all discussion of it is stanched.”* I think this is something that needs to be explored further.

  • At first I thought this latest issue was being completely suppressed, but I now see that as long as members observe privacy by not talking about the offended member’s details, the threads are being tolerate. Good on the SDMB for that. I appreciate it.

I’ve been reading the Alderbaran thread for the first time.
I just had to point out the irony of these statements:

No shit. Xamatix has 22 posts, and at least 17 of them are about Alde, and slagging on the Mods. What’s the point? Why would anyone pay $4.95 or $14.95 just to talk about the “mistreatment” of Alde? It’s clear Xamatix has an agenda.

Xamantix, you’ve been warned about this before. You’re establishing a trackrecord of just being here to complain about how horrible it is. This doesn’t serve you or the board well.

Either widen your interests here or go back to lurking. If you continue with this, we won’t have any choice but to ban you.

Holy shit-you and I actually AGREE on something! Should we check and see if Hitler’s wearing ice skates?

Xamatix, I ask you again please not to bring up my name anymore, as I cannot reply to your statements.

Thanks.

Watch out for flying pigs!

How’s that feel, anyway, having someone obsessed with you? May be a lesson to be learned in there. Too bad it’s too late for your personal obsession.

Posts-per-page is a user setting in vBulletin. So, this claim is not necessarily the case.

You’re right. The way in which I bold usernames is an affectation isolated only to me and used by no other members of this board. It is good of you to call attention to this, my personal folly, so that others may see the wisdom of your path.

A accept your acknowledgement that you demanded a cite of something self-evident.

Yes, that’s all that’s necessary to answer your demand for a cite. Which is why it seemed a bit daft to demand a cite in the first place. Do you see?

TubaDiva as a username sticks in my mind only because it gets mentally misread as TubDiva and pulls up an image of TubGirl… singing opera. That’s pretty much all I have to say about TubaDiva. I have no opinion about her as a person.

So I’m more than happy to accept your interpretation that she’s been the cat’s pajamas, the greatest thing since sliced bread, and the bee’s knees for six or more years. We can trust TubaDiva to do what she thinks is right. She should have her privileges revoked for exactly that reason.

Wow.

This is SO cool.

I evidently know somebody who has ESP. And all this time I’ve been hanging around on JREF, and they keep tellin’ me there’s no such thing. Well, hey, Catsix, James Randi has a million dollars with your name on it. You write this prediction down, and you get on the horn to JREF, and you get the wheels turning to claim your moolah. Damn, this is exciting.

BTW, as long as you’re here (if you don’t mind): Who’s going to win for Best Picture this year? Mind telling us?

Or did Zotti give you some kind of secret inside information–he told you Tuba would be reinstated with full privileges in 29 days? Wow, what kind of pull do you HAVE, with the Admins, to get access to that kind of info? So, if you’ve got that kind of pull, huccome you’re in here pissin’ and moanin’ about the poor service you’re getting? Don’t they know you’re Da Bomb?

Or did you consult tarot cards or something? Oh, do tell, do. Inquiring minds want to know how YOU know that Tuba will be back, intact, in 29 days.

P.S. I’m going to bookmark this thread, so I can come back in a month and revel in your newfound notoriety as Winner of the JREF Million Dollars.

And it all started…here. Think of it.

Nahhh…I think actually I’ll ratchet it up a few notches; you’re such an easy target, see. Don’t get many chances to shoot fish in a barrel in the Pit like this.

Wow.

There’s that ESP thing, kicking in again. That was EXACTLY what I was thinking.

This is spooky.

P.S. If you’ll check Zotti’s Sticky again, you’ll find that the word “temporary” does not occur in it. It only says she’s “Suspended” for 30 days. “Suspended” at the SDMB doesn’t automatically mean “The poster will be back, intact, in 30 days”. You’re just ASSUMING that, but it ain’t necessarily so. See, that’s what you get when you rely on ESP for your information-gathering; it’s not really as reliable at amassing “facts” as plain old reading comprehension. But hey, nobody ever won a million dollars for reading comprehension, did they?

Thank you, Jeee-sus!! He has SEEN the LIGHT!! Can I get an A-MEN? Hal-le-LU-jah!!

[exits thread, rejoicing]

Weeeeeell, typically, it does. You and I go way back but maybe you do want to dial it down just a wee bit in the event that you turn out to be wrong. Which, considering what a suspension often means (which is a temporary loss of a job), is a distinct possibility.

Actually you stupid fucking twat, it does say thirty days.

See that, Duck Duck Goose, the daft condescending asslicking bitch from hell?

Maybe you should’ve read the fucking post before you linked to it to show me how ‘wrong’ I was.

Fucking moron.

She probably can’t reply to you, either. Nice job.

I’m not sure but I get the feeling that she’s his wife, which would explain her two-note solo.

Wow. Love it or leave it. The brilliance of that sentiment never fades, does it?

shrug It was a rhetorical question, anyway.

Yes. That’s exactly what I said. Love it or leave it.

Oh wait, no it isn’t. What I actually said was that treating the mods and admins like your employees because you paid five bucks a year to post here makes you look like an asshole, and people who expect that kind of treatment should go look for it somewhere else because I find them irritating. Complain all you want, but once you play the “I’m The Customer!” card you look like the asshole in Walmart demanding 10% off his tube socks because the checkout girl rolled her eyes at him.

So a more accurate translation would be “I could give a shit if you love it or don’t, so long as you don’t act like an annoying, self-important drama queen.”

Why should they leave when you could do the same? If you find it “irritating,” it really wouldn’t be that tough to simply stop opening the clearly marked threads, let alone, responding to them.

Geez, you people.

It says “Suspended for 30 days”. I KNOW that. God give me strength.

It doesn’t SAY “temporarily” suspended.

I am not wrong.

If it said, “Tem. po. rar. i. ly suspended”, that would be an indication that in the minds of the SDMB administration, Tuba was going to be coming back. If Zotti had gone out of his way to say it was a tem. po. rar. y suspension, THAT would mean she was coming back.

Okay?

It just says, “Suspended”. Period.

Which they have told us MANY MANY MANY times means ONLY that…

they are THINKING about it.

It is…“suspended”.

“In suspension”.
Between two worlds.
Hanging fire.

They are mulling it over.
They are discussing it.
They are cogitating what to do.

Is my point.

Thank you to EVERYONE for totally missing it. Being so taken up with your hate agenda.
