The two members above display complete inablility to appreciate moral
and intellectual distinctions. Heeeeyyy Doooodes! It’s all, um, like the,
you know, ah er, the same thing!
I can scarcely believe they are out of HS yet, although nothing would suprise
me about the depths to which our education system has sunk, and the
substandard product it keeps churning out.
They desperately need guidance, but someone else will have to fill that role,
because I am not patient enough to put up with any more of their HS shit.
The fact that you take pride in wearing the word “hate” on your chest
IS a moral failure. What the fuck is wrong with you that you must hate
someone who beats you in a big game?
Your loss to Duke, coming as it did in mere regional play, was less traumatic
than the numerous losses suffered by my team for the championship, against
teams who I would dearly love to have beaten, but who I bore no grudge against
then and to this day. You will do well to follow that example.
And BTW being a Kentucky fan you should know of Wildcat F4 wins over Duke
in the 1966 F4 semis, and 1978 finals. Even if those were before your time
you should realize that odds favor payback is the long run, and you may as well
learn to live with it, because you did probably not see the last of it in 1992.
This other guy comes along and says “I fucking hate Duke” and “I will NEVER stop hating Duke”
and you tell me I am the personal one?
There’s a hole in the ground somewhere where you have lost a vital part of your anatomy.
You need to go look for it. Now.
I see this thread has turned into flypaper for, well, for intellectual and emotional flies.
I guess my best move is to bow out again, this time for good.
I don’t “take pride” in hating Duke…I just hate their team. I am also a Bengals fan and hate the Steelers with a fucking passion that defies reason (again with the “sports hate” definition)…what’s the fucking difference?
Oh yeah, which is why the game between UK and Duke in 1992 is considered by so many as “the best basketball game ever played”…when I respectfully disagree with that assertion…maybe the WORST game ever…you’re something else dude. Whatever.
I have two favorite teams. The UNC Tar Heels and whoever is playing dook. I love seeing them lose.
And the idea that the hatred for dook, at least from Tar Heels, goes back far longer than 40 years. Hell, the brawl between Larry Brown and Art Heyman was the early 60s. Add in events like Montross, Bloody Montross, and the Gerald “Thug” Henderson’s elbow to Tyler Hansbrough’s nose and there is little surprise that the hatred exists.
Part of the fun is that sports hate. Will Blythe even wrote a book about it; “To Hate Like This Is To Be Happy Forever.” I really recommend those interested in the rivalry read that book.
I’m siding with colonial here. Why care about when another team wins or loses when they’re not playing you? My cavs just got shellacked by vt at home. Shut out. Paid $150 for tickets and i was pretty irked. However i woudnt say im pissed. I wouldnt even say i hate tech. It’s sad, it’s a bummer, it may be even flat out demoralizing but there is no hate, loathing, or any other auch fervor. I agree that team fanaticism is to an extend some sort of emotional failing.
However, modern duke fans are probably just as guilty of this than others. In fact, the only more deplorable fans are Maryland fans.
Well, since your poor sportsmanship in this thread has been well established, the only issue is if it rises to the level of a felony, or is merely morally reprehensible. I’m checking the statutes now.
Gaudere’s Law: You lament the quality of an educational system while misspelling “inability” and “surprise.”
