Since my brackets got shattered faster than Rosie O’Donnells lingerie model career  , I have been forced to rejoice in the other aspects of the tournament. And the second best I could have hoped for (second to a UK championship) just happened: DUKE LOST! As a lifetime University of Kentucky fan, I’m required by law to hate them. And when they lose, and I get to see J. J. Redick cry as he ends his career with a loss, it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.
I hate Duke (being from Maryland) as much as anyone, and not to rain on any Duke-hater’s parade, but why rejoice in JJ Redick’s pain? He’s never struck me as arrogant or a prick, rather he’s had to deal with a lot of shit thrown at him from fans all over, and seems to have dealt with it ok.
Except for my brackets, I’m glad Duke lost - just never felt the animosity towards Redick as seems so prevalent everywhere.
Ahh…what a taunting thread. My Mountaineers could have been in a position to take advantage of such a monumentous occasion (and exact a little revenge on LSU for ruining Jerry West’s number retirement day), but well…live by the 3, die by the 3
Damn, I was kinda hoping the Gators would have the pleasure of disposing of Duke (again) should we make it to the title game. But it’s still great to see Coach K whining. “The refs weren’t quite as ridiculously biased in our favor as they are in ACC games!” I’m sorry Coach K, why don’t you go shoot a few more commercials to sooth your pain.
