That’s the recruitment thread. Here are the sheets:
Vrai
Jenks
Calven
Phaistos
Khel

I’d like to remind everyone that in just a few short days, on the Saturday after this one, the game WILL return! Blood WILL spill! Dice WILL roll! Puns WILL be made!

Not PUNS! Say it ain’t so!

That’s not a few short day.
That’s two weeks.
Slacker.

Yes, but each day will be a bit shorter than the one preceding it, so in a way, they are short(er) days.

Game tomorrow night!

Unless half of you guys don’t show up :frowning:

Yeah, let’s take this motherfucker to quorum level… Or next time, Vrai gets to set the party agenda.

As long as we play this week, I don’t care how many people show up. Next game, we start with 3!

I was down with three last time. We’ve played 3/5 before, no real difference if we go 3/6. But at least last weekend our changing plans caused me to go out and see Spiderman in 3D with friends.

Sooo…no one who missed last week has posted here or on Skype. You guys gonna make it?

Looks like maybe no…

I talked to Sun, he should make it. CFS isn’t going to, but T-Man hasn’t said he won’t so he likely will.

Yeah, I’m in Atlantic City with the missus this weekend.

Looking forward to Saturday’s session. Had a blast last week!

From Vrai’s journal:
Oxymouth claims that the spell which created him does not allow him to leave the tower. I still don’t quite believe it, but it seems that Oxyman may very well have created a servant whose only purpose was to torment visitors to his fortress. Speaking of visitors, Oxymouth informed us that some gigantic brute of a creature was bumbling about the perimeter of the tower, and asked us if we wanted him to be included in the challenges. The Order decided to included him… after all, a walking slab of meat and muscle has its uses.

The creature seems to be some sort of ogre, or perhaps a half-ogre. I’m not terribly sure it matters, as it seems to have the intellect of a mildly clever ape with the strength of several ordinary men. Whatever it is, it seems pliable. While the rest of the Order made pointless small talk and chattered on endlessly, I made sure to begin setting the beast up as a counterweight to the druid and swordsman. A quick casting of False Life did nothing significant to drain my magical reserves, but it made the beast think I was someone to be trusted.

After the beast, I believe it’s name is Treg or Turg or… well… who cares… joined us, Oxymouth ushered us into the next challenge. A set of tin golems, animated with black onyx (and Oxymouth would have me believe that there wasn’t enough necromantic magic in his creation to allow him to leave the tower?) attacked us. Each golem was attuned to a different elemental force. In a twist, Oxymouth informed us that we had to hoist the golems up onto a set of pillars without actually destroying the golems in the process. After several abortive attempts to remove the onyx from the golems without destroying the gems, we began to systematically smash the gems into shards. Luckily, this disabled the golems without destroying them. Unfortunately, as the gems were destroyed the golems released waves of energy throughout the arena, battering the Order. Also the slavegirl, I think. It’s a pity she didn’t die, I could have made great use of her corpse.

In any case, after we’d managed to survive the golems and put their inert forms back onto their pillars, our next challenge turned out to be arena of elemental challenges. Evidently Oxyman’s warped sense of humor knows few bounds, as we not only fought air elementals, but the laws of motion and gravity themselves shifted like the breeze as we slew them. Luckily we were gifted with a set of bottles of air… which I can only assume will prove useful once we reach the water elementals.

I hope that the fire elementals aren’t situated in a similar milieu.
From Vrai’s journal:
Dragon. A dragon! Well… a dragon corpse, at least, once we were done with it. Not terribly much to tell. Oxyman’s watery challenge was a fight against a fairly massive young black dragon. The fight was somewhat difficult as the chamber filled with water and spellcasting became… difficult. Luckily I did not take any injuries. It is possible that some of the members of the Order may have been wounded, but I wasn’t paying attention.

Ah, but the corpse! That lovely, lovely corpse. When the dragon fell, the less savvy members of the Order (and the half-ogre beast) rushed to the dragon’s hoard and began picking through the shiny bits. I immediately knew the true treasure in the room, and Desecrated the chamber. Before the druid could catch on, or the swordsman think up some high-minded bit of twaddle to spew at me, I stuffed the dragon’s maw full of black onyx and Animated it.
I even managed to talk the Order into granting me a set of Boots of Featherfall from the hoard, although I must admit that the Bag of Holding would have been quite useful for carrying reserve corpses. Still and all, should I go flying with my new pet, I would much rather ensure a safe landing should the ride prove turbulent. After I was properly outfitted I chose a magical figurine of a chain demon. It might come in handy should I need some extra leverage with my… patron.

Speak of the devil, but the owner of my 7 boons decided to take that exact moment to call for one of the boons. He teleported me away from Oxyman’s and to an assignment which has proven to be a great deal of fun. *Elven children are so very trusting. *
Well, ladies and gents, it appears that this campaign journal was forgotten! And indeed, it was, for many moons! It has slumbered, waiting, biding its time. But now the time has come for dark cultists to awaken this campaign journal, to create a dark mockery of its former self, yet somehow more AWESOME!
The Rest of the Challenges

When we left off, the party has just finished killing the air elementals of the Elemental Room of Doom. They were left with three challenges to go, and chose water next. They were expecting water elementals; what they got was a room filled with murky water and a big black dragon inside. The dragon fought fiercely, but finally the party brought it down. As their reward, Oxyman granted the party both the dragon’s corpse and what was left of its hoard from before it was captured. As soon as the water drained, Vrai animated the dragon’s corpse as his pet zombie. Sadly, Oxyman did not allow the dragon to be used as part of the challenges, and teleported him to the main lobby. At the same time, a devil appeared to call in one of Vrai’s boons. Vrai disappeared, and the party was left to fight the next two challenges sans Vrai. They fought some fire elementals and an earth elemental, managed to defeat them, and moved on to the next room.

The fourth challenge is a simple lever in an empty room. After a thorough search, the party determines that the room is, in fact, trapped. Very heavily so. The party tries to decide what to do, but Vrai has a simple idea: He summons a skeletal minion and has it pull the lever. It does so, getting obliterated in the process, but the lever is pulled and the challenge is complete.

The final challenge is in the big pit in the center of the first room. The party climbs down the ladder, dodges blade traps on the way down, and makes its way towards a point of light in the distance. When they reach the light, the darkness of the pit concentrates into a single point. A single point that takes the form of a humanoid monster that attacks. The party fends off the shadow and destroys it, then heads up to the lobby. The door to the tower proper is now open.

Oxyman… And Plot!

The party climbs up to Oxyman’s main office. Finally, they have made it to their goal. Oxyman greets them, and instructs them in the Djinn summoning ritual. The party goes through with it, and a portal to the Elemental Plane of Air opens. Except that it doesn’t. A portal opens, but it doesn’t lead to the Plane of Air; it doesn’t lead anywhere. The party loudly complains about being robbed of their wishes while Oxyman becomes very worried and tells them he needs to do some research. To keep them nice and quiet while he reads his books, he tosses the party a Ring of Wishes. Vrai snatches it first, and the party argues about who gets to go first. Finally they agree to let Vrai do it, but before he can complete the spell, Klara points a wand that can cast a high-level Force spell that she found in Oxyman’s study. She warns Vrai that she will kill him if he doesn’t drop the ring. Vrai does some quick smooth-talk, distracting her just long enough to cast Blindness on her. Blind, Klara is unable to aim her wand, and Vrai is able to disarm her. Klara stumbles, blind, down the stairs and out into the desert, leaving the party. Khel sends his animal companion Moonclaw to guide her.

Vrai finally gets his wish, and uses it to become undead. Calven uses his wish to become a Swordsage instead of a Swashbuckler, and to receive a fire elemental companion, who is created out of flames rather than being summoned from the Plane of Fire. Khel becomes a gold half-dragon, to get in touch with his draconic ancestors that he believes lizardfolk have. Treg uses his wish to remove the curse from his armor. And Phaistos uses his wish to become a full-blooded Drow.

As the last Wish is cast, Oxyman returns. He reveals that his research has shown that somehow, the Material Plane has become disconnected from the Inner Planes. What caused this is unknown; how to fix this is unknown. All Oxyman does know is, without the connection to the Inner Planes, the Material Plane and everything in it will soon be unmade. He also reveals that he is, in fact, still alive, but cannot leave the tower due to way the spell keeping him alive functions. He recommends to the party to head over to the Western continent to find another ancient wizard, this one a conjurer who knows everything there is to know about the Planes. The party leaves the tower, only to find their mounts’ completely decayed corpses. It seems that the spell keeping Oxyman alive made time flow faster outside his tower than within.
The campaign is actually farther along than this by quite a bit, but I feel like this is a good start for now.
