Ok everybody just take your post from the other thread and switch the words Dutch and Islamic.
Wait, you mean it’s not just “moslems”, and “islamo-fascists” that have the terror market cornered? Color me shocked…
BTW, that’s some fucked up shit. Unfortunately with the rise of nationalism in Europe, this will be an oft-repeated scene. IMO.
Sam
Somehow I suspect that this thread shall not show itself to be such an overwhelming succes as the other one. Not in replies, and not in views.
(Call me a sceptic if you like).
Salaam. A
Well, I’ve been following both… and now you’ve got me to post to this one…
And yes, I think both attacks are Terrorism, pure and simple. And neither one should be used to tar an entire population over it.
Dani
But was it a Christian mad dog?
Blowing the door of an empty school in the middle of the night =! stabbing a man and slitting his throat
Okay, just so we keep the tally going another school was torched.
If that was your kids school…
It’s is an act of terrorism that sends the message “Get the hell out of our country or your children are next.” At lest a man might defend himself but children?!?!
Imagin being a child and showing up for school and finding it blown up?
After you stop jumping for joy because you don’t have to take a math test it may dawn you that someone may try to hurt you.
Yes the two acts are equal.
No the two are not equal. Of course it’s reprehensible, moreso because it’s never acceptable to take children hostage to adults politics. However lets get real, destroying an empty building is not the same thing as decapitating a man. The same way throwing bricks at McDonalds at an anti-globalisation demonstration is not the same as murdering burger flippers, or ripping apart ATM machines is not the same as stabbing bank clerks. Also I’m not so sure what the message is as you appear to be. To me it looks more like impotent rage.
And I have to wonder at your intention with starting this thread, seeing as it is obviously closely mirrored at the other thread which you apparently thought did not merit a comment - or a more reasonable OP. If you want to discuss or rant against a growing nationalism (in an increasingly integrated EU?) or European bigotry – sure thing, but perhaps an OP that didn’t piggyback on another subject would be more appropriate. On the other hand if your intention is to show that there in reality is no problem with integrating Islam into western society and Islamists in particular, that it’s all in the head of some crazy racist bigots - well then I think you’re sadly mistaken and in fact helping aggravating the problem.
I believe the intention is to show that the gravity of crimes is entirely independent of the nationality or religion of the perpetrator.
Accordingly, nominating either at the discussion’s start has an unterior and unsavoury purpose.
ulterior, dammit!
I think if there is going to be a thread title of “Islamic Mad Dog does X” when ever an Islamic person does something than why not a “Dutch Mad Dog does Y” when they do something.
Should I have waited untill there was news reports of an actual death of a follower of Islam? Would it be ok then?
Only reporting the ‘madness’ of one side is not right. Saying that Muslims aren’t intergrating and the burdon of intergration is completly on them isn’t right. Maybe part of the reason they aren’t intergrating is because some people don’t want them to intergrate.
I was also lamenting the cycle of violence that doesn’t seem to end. That the people who blew up the school only made things worse.
And why would the population of Dutchistan suddenly and collectively decide that they don’t want moslem immigrants?
hehehe, Brutus at ‘Dutchistan’.
I guess Zebra hasn’t got a clue about what’s happening here. But trying to get popular over someone else’s misery happens, right?
The Netherlands is in chaos. Mosques, schools [both muslim and non-religious], and churches are set afire.
Queen Beatrix has condemned these actions
Prime Minister Balkenende has condemned these actions.
I condemn it and I apologise. I’m not too happy being Dutch today.
I hope they throw the fucks who did this in jail and throw away the keys.
Come to think of it: Throw the arsonists of the schools in the same cell as the ones that burned down the churches. Maybe they can ‘talk’ to each-other a bit.
Of course not. When the mad dog Muslims we’ve got many years of barbaric behavior to bitch about. When we have 30 years or more of the mad dog Dutch taking hostages at the Olympics, hijacking planes, killing old men in wheel chairs and dumping them in the sea, suicide bombers blowing up pizza parlours and weddings, as finally Dutch religious leaders calling for the death of authors I think you’ll see us singing a very different tune.
In short the Dutch have shown themselves to be civilized while much of the Muslim word has been shown to be barbaric.
Marc
What the fuck? You ought to be ashamed. In fact, I’m ashamed for your poor mother. It’s disheartening to see such dismissive shit, such hate, such general statements, such willful ignorance out of a Doper.
Sam
Why? What hate?
It’s becoming painfully obvious–we must choose between complete submission to Islamic extremism, or we must fight.
And if we fight, no matter how hard we try, innocent people will be hurt.
The most we can do is try to limit the harm.
Or else submit.
And I’d rather die than submit.
Your shallow catchphrases & knee-jerk slogan-spouting can’t alter the deaths, GaWd.
Or the danger.
I don’t like it. But I don’t see any good options.
Come on, MGibson is right. How many terrorist attacks have been carried out by Christians and how many by Muslims?
Hold on, you think condemning an entire religion and the hundreds of cultures that fall under the term “Muslim world” as “barbaric” not hateful? How anyone can NOT see the hate and the ignorance in a comment like that is beyond me.
Far from a knee-jerk, it’s just another sign of how I am out of step with many of my fellow Americans.
Sam
Look throughout history and I’m sure you’ll find enough evidence to prove that White Christians are and have been just as evil and barbaric as the “Muslim world”. What we call “terrorist attacks” today could very easily have just been called “racial tensions” and “racially-motivated killings” here in the US in the mid-1900s.
