DVD/TV Cable question

I have a DVD player that’s about 10 years old that I want to hook up to a TV that is about 15 years old. This would allow me to watch DVDs in my barn/workshop while I’m working on a project.

The TV has a standard, round, cable/antenna connector on the back and that’s it. The DVD has digital out, component video out and s-video out connectors… no HDMI.

Is there a standard cable I can get that will allow me to connect the DVD player to the TV so that I can watch DVDs on this TV?

What is this with TV hookup questions?

There is no good way to hook a video-only device to an antenna-only TV.

Only $12 at Home Depot.

ETA: You probably could replace your TV with one that has s-video input for less than that though. Many people will give you their old CRT TVs, if you just come to pick it up–check Craigslist.

Except to get an RF Modulator.

So, yeah, super easy way. Best Buy, Radio Shack, Home Depot, Lowes etc probably all have them in stock.

The RF modulator doesn’t have much to do .

Svideo won’t give a better picture, as the colour will have to be modulated into the B&W signal , to be the same as composite video … The sound is modulated to FM, and then all that is shifted up to a transmitter frequency … so the signal arrives as the TV as if it was picked up by an antenna.

My VHS has the same capability, so if you happen to have one …
