I’ve check my e-mail options and no problem there. Help.
Just what kind of notification were you expecting?
samclem: as you well know, I’m expecting the SDMB to nofify me by email when there has been at least one response to my post. SDMB and my e-mail options are not the problem. If you can resolve this problem, let me know.

I’m not sure that I DO know what you’re getting at.
Let’s try this: if you’re expecting the SDMB to notify you when there has been a post to this thread(the one in which we are talking), then you need to
- Open this thead.
- Click on “Thread tools.”
- Hit “Subscribe to this thread.”
- Read you email for a notification that a new post to this thread has been sent to you.
Or, am I misunderstanding your problem?
It is my understanding that when you post a question or topic, the SDMB admin sends an email to alert me that there has been one or more replies.
What do you have under User CP -> Edit Options -> Messaging and Notification -> Default Thread Subscription Mode?
:dubious: You have your own personal admin that sends you e-mails when you post? Since 1999?
Service sure has gone down around here. 
While samclem is very helpful, ATMB is not usually his department.
You have also checked your spam filter and you’re not seeing anything there, correct?
The other possibility is that perhaps your ISP itself is directly blocking Straight Dope email. This is a problem we encounter from time to time and is not caused by us but rather by your ISP mistaking The Straight Dope for a spammer. You may need to talk to your ISP to see if this is the case, as we have no control over that situation.
