Earliest/latest sitcom set in each US state

Set In NY, King of Queens ran from 1998 to 2007

Later still, Sons of Tucson ran in 2010

Hearts Afire, also set in DC, was on from 1992 to 1995

For Pennsylvania, The Goldbergs premiered in 2013 and is still running.

American Housewife, set in Westport, Connecticut aired from 2016 to 2021

And Taxi and Night Court, no doubt among others

Tacoma FD, which is still in production, should be the latest for Washington state.

Has anyone mentioned The Louie Show (1996)? Louie Anderson plays a psychotherapist in Duluth, MN. It was very short-lived but I remember liking it.

I miss him.

For Nevada…

Vegas (Nevada) - 1978
Breaking Bad (New Mexico) - 2008

Neither was a sitcom.

D’oh! Of course :woman_facepalming:

The Dan Tanna show is spelled with a “$”, dear heart.

Holy Kesha! What is wrong with me today?!

Roc was about a Baltimore trash collector. It ran 1991-1994.

Virginia has The Millers between 2013-2015.

Found a new one for Maryland, Cuts that ran from 2005-2006 on UPN. I’ve never heard of it before.

Charles S. Dutton and Rocky ([NCIS] “Director Vance”) Carroll – how could I forget that show? I hang my head in shame.

Rel was a Chicago-based sitcom that ran until January 2019

South Side is also based in Chicago, is currently running and is a situational comedy. But possibly not the kind of traditional sitcom we’re looking for.

Friends was later than Seinfeld, 30 Rock later than that, Rules of Engagement later than that, and 2 Broke girls, 2011-2017 was the latest I remembered, but just remembered Brooklyn 99, all set in New York (city).

Barry has new episodes this month, set in California (is it a sitcom though?).

Is It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia a sitcom? Honest question; I’ve never really watched it. But it is still running, and it is obviously set in Pennsylvania.

Washington DC has Veep.
