TV Trivia: States

I was trying to compile a list of TV shows situated in all the 50 US states and DC. I found at least one for some, but can’t think of examples for the rest. (I don’t count “road” shows [Incredible Hulk, The Fugative] that happen to have one episode in a state, nor miniseries.) Here’s what I got so far:

Wrong thinking is punished, right thinking is just as swiftly rewarded. You'll find it an effective combination.

Wasn’t Sanford & Son in St. Louis? If so, that’s your Missouri one.

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” - Anne Frank

Drawing blanks, I turn to the IMDB…

Kentucky: “The Wonderful John Acton”

…just to take care of my home Commonwealth.

Is this cheating?

God is my co-pilot. Blame Him.

Sanford was from St. Louis, but the show was set in Los Angeles.

Lucas Tanner (boy, that’s an obscure one) was set in St. Louis, and I believe there was a series based on Tom Sawyer that was located in, obviously, Hannibal.

I understand all the words, they just don’t make sense together like that.

For some of the bread basket states and western states you may need to look back to the 50’s.

Arizona - Alice
Georgia - Designing Women, Savannah (mercifully, short lived)
Wisconsin - Laverne & Shirley (until they went to CA), That 70s Show

I think “Alice” was based in Phoenix, I am not 100% sure though. (With Linda Lavin)

Arkansas: Evening Shade.
Mississippi: In the Heat of the Night. (not sure on this one though)

< tech is cursing AWB under her breath, now I am on a hunt, >

Mississippi – In the Heat of the Night (with Carol O’Conner)

< sniff sniff > People keep beating me to the punch! :frowning:

Sorry about that.

One more:

Wyoming: The Virginian.

Wasn’t Murder She Wrote in Maine, or am I misremembering?

Arizona:
High Chaparral
Petrocelli

Is the show “Roswell” or “Roswell High” or whatever it’s called actually set in Roswell, New Mexico? If so, that’s probably the best representative for the Land of Enchantment. If not, oh well.

But “Murder She Wrote” was indeed set in Maine.

Heck is where you go when you don’t believe in Gosh.

Was ‘Twin Peaks’ in Idaho or Washington?

Where was the Dukes of Hazzard supposed to be. Anyone want to hazzard a guess? (ba dum bump)

The great American Gothic was set in South Carolina.

Apple’s Way, an 80’s show with Ronny Cox and Kristy McNichol, was set in Iowa.

Something occurs to me - if we can come with 49 states but are stuck on just one - that must be where the Simpson’s Springfield is.

New Hampshire: Newheart (sp?)

Kansas: Gunsmoke (took place in & around Dodge City)

Louisiana: The Big Easy (yes, I know it was a movie, but it was also a TV series on, IIRC, USA.)

For Arizona: The New Dick Van Dyke Show or whatever the hell it was called. Not the classic series; the crappy one from the seventies, with Hope Lange.

Washington.
