Your game, your rules (just an idea!).

Best supply only single answers rather than quote or copy whole list to save bandwidth.

Deadwood is in South Dakota.

I’m pretty sure this has been done before, but never mind…

Washington - Frasier
Pennsylvania - The Office (or do remakes not count?)
New Jersey - The Sopranos
Illinois - ER

Arizona- Alice
Montana- Bonanza
Ohio- WKRP
Wisconsin- Laverne and Shirley

Maryland - Homicide

Pennsylvania: thirtysomething, Amen

Michigan- Home Improvement
Minnesota- Mary Tyler Moore, Coach
Colorado- Mork & Mindy

Utah - HBO’s Big Love

Invasion Iowa (2005), William Shatner’s 4-part reality miniseries, had him filming a phony sci fi epic in Capt. Kirk’s future hometown of Riverside (pop. <1,000).

Apple’s Way (1974-75), an ultra-sappy family show, had Ronny Cox moving his brood from LA back to his fictional hometown of Appleton. Even Iowa viewers in 1974 thought this one creaked like a condemned covered bridge.

Please excuse the geek ‘n’ critique –if unwelcome, mod may delete.

Can we give one if the state has been stated already?

Ohio - Drew Carey Show

OK, maybe a couple of rules are needed - I was thinking of it as a kind of drinking/dinner party game, so …

Already done - DRINK
Incorrect state- DRINK
Not fictional (ie. news or reality something) - DRINK
Obscure (<1 million viewer threshold, say) - DRINK
Fleeting as a mayfly (2 series or 10 episodes required) - DRINK

Feel free to add your own.

Vermont - Newhart
Maine - Murder She Wrote (so I understand–I’ve never seen it)

Where was Roseanne set?

North Carolina – The Andy Griffith Show (Mayberry is a parody of 1950s Mount Airy, NC, Andy’s actual home town)

Maine – Murder, She Wrote

Pennsylvania – Queer as Folk is set in Pittsburgh (!)

Family Guy-- Rhode Island
King Of the Hill–Texas
Golden Girls—Florida

Wisconsin – That 70’s show

Iowa - Double Trouble
Illinois - Roseanne
**Indiana ** - One Day at Time

WOO HOO! Midwest Trifecta!

…I’ve never played a drinking game! Is the object to get drinks, or to not have to drink?

Minnesota – The Rocky and Bullwinkle show (Frostbite Falls, albeit immaginary, was in Minn.)

Rosanne would be Illinois.

D’oh! Must read more carefully. I see Roseanne was already covered.
