Earthquake in Northern California

It was a 4.0.

Did you feel it?

That was probably me getting rear-ended again on the freeway.

Oh my! I hope you’re OK! Man, that’s gotta suck!!

I have some friends in Oakland. This thread reminded me I needed to send them an email to say hello.

Nope. Not felt by anyone in this house. But a friend of mine in Alameda felt it.

I got nothin’.

South San Francisco reporting in. Definitely felt it.

Sacramento- I didn’t feel a thing.

Nothing in Chico, of course. (Hey, I used to work for a bakery based in Alamo! I hope all the wedding cakes for tomorrow didn’t fall down.)

Little jolt in Alameda.
I was thinking about earthquakes lately and was wondering when we were going to have one, I haven’t felt any since the 5 point something we had last October.

That’s the last one I felt too. We’re in Los Gatos.

I have a brother in Walnut Creek; he’s lived in CA since 1978 and he says this was the sharpest one he’s ever felt. Heh, I wonder if he’s remembering the Santa Cruz one?! At any rate, he said it seemed to be centered in the Walnut Creek area  It was enough of a jolt that things were knocked over and off of shelves and a picture in a glass frame fell off the wall breaking the frame. I hope to hear more from him in the morning, but he said he’d probably have trouble getting to sleep Friday night - the quake was about 9 PM PST.

I felt it, most definitely, but even so it wasn’t enough to get me off the couch. Just a quick little jolt, then a couple of shakes, then nothing. Easy. Almost immediately, I couldn’t help thinking about the fact that we’ve been having what is often called “earthquake weather” around here (it was about 100º today here in Lafayette; I’m barely 5 miles away from Alamo). I don’t know if there’s anything to that–how could there be?–but I’m sure I’ll hear someone mention it within the next few days.

el cerrito. felt it. nothing big.

We had a quick little jerk and a small “boom”. I felt it, as did one of the cats, who was walking on the top edge of the couch at the time, lost his balance, and fell off. The hubby and the other cat didn’t even notice.

Also EC, felt one bump then nothing.

A good jolt but nothing to get excited about. I’m in central San Francisco.

That’s what she said!

I was taking a nap, so I didn’t feel a thing.

Also I’m in Canada.

And here I was responding to somebody named poker in the rear
