ebay and Opera problems

I have recently had problems using my opera (7.03/WinXP) to login to my ebay account. Have others noticed this problem? Is it that I have set my JAVA to block pop-ups.

BTW I have no problems using that other, IMHO inferior, browser.

opera 7.11 (Win XP). Same problem. Didn’t change any settings; just stopped being able to log in to ebay account. Paypal works, though.

Don’t know why.

I believe you can set Opera to block pop-ups in general, but still allow them from specific sites that you list.

But I don’t think that’s your problem. I use Mozilla, with pop-ups blocked, and ebay is not on my list of allowed pop-ups, but I still have no problems accessing the ebay site (except for over-spending!).

I got a long e-mail from the customer support. It’s below. I will check it today – this might close the thread, mods.

Hello,

Thanks for taking the time to write to us about not being able to sign
in to your account.

I really am sorry for the difficulties you’ve had. We are experiencing
issues with Opera users this week.

Let’s try and get this fixed, as quickly as possible. Please try the
following:

Click “File”…

Scroll down the menu and click “Preferences”…

Click “Privacy” in the popup console…

Click the long button labeled “Edit server filters…”…

Find the eBay folder and click to highlight (don’t worry if folder
expands to reveal contents)…

Click the “Edit” button to your right…

Then depending on your original settings, UNCLICK “Use default cookie
settings”…

Then the next top two items should be checked:

Use as domain

Accept cookies for server/domain

This should allow you to sign in to your account. When you do so please
use only your User ID DELETED and not your e-mail address, to sign in
with.

If your password doesn’t seem to work, please let me reset it for you.

I just need a little bit of information:

Postal Code:

Primary phone number:

My name is Mike and I hope I was able to help you out.

All the Best,

Message: I have been using OPERA and e-bay together for a number of
years. I am now no longer able to login using opera (7.03). I have to
use that inferior Microsoft product. Is there a way that I can use opera
and your services?
