Edward Hibbert's face

Edward Hibbert is perhaps best known for his role of restaurant critic Gil Chesterton on *Frasier. *I always wondered about his oddly-shaped right cheek/jaw, also seen here. It could possibly be the result of cancer surgery. Anybody know?

LOL I was over in the thread about David Boreanz’ face and was looking up the name if Edward Hibbert to mention him there … and this thread popped up.

I have no idea what could have happened to his face, it is very disfigured, isn’t it?

If you Google “edward hibbert jaw” you can see that someone has speculated that he may have Parry-Romberg syndrome.

Lucky for his career he’s a stage actor; such a problem isn’t as distracting (and thus a career problem) when there aren’t close-ups.

I guess I assumed he had some sort of surgery on his jaw with some bone loss. I always thought it gave his face character and made him more distinctive, sort of like David Bowie’s mismatched eyes or Stephen Colbert’s cockeyed  ears.
