Egad, it's hot

Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it only early June? Why, then, is the temperature here (Greenville, SC) 95 degrees Fahrenheit today? And projected to be 97 by Sunday? Isn’t that jumping the gun on high summer just a weensy bit?
Good news, though! The projected high for Tuesday is down to 93 degrees! Whee! Better break out the long-johns.
Mundane and pointless indeed. I don’t do hot weather well.

RR

I hear yas. It’s 97 in Athens and I work in a greenhouse. Just remember the nice weather we had this winter and head for the AC.

I think the heat is why so many people have off tomorrow at my job. There’s only going to be 3 of us here. We are in a very old building that has less-than-efficient air conditioning. It works out well for them that it’s supposed to be 90-something degrees on a Friday so they get a 3 day weekend.

It snowed in Los Alamos today. WTF?

Hell up here it’s in the 90’s plus the wind is gusting up to 50 MPH. It’s like being in an industrial dryer. They didn’t call it the dust bowl for nothing.

I am from SC, and I swear I didn’t think I would ever miss humidity now I have a humidifier.

When I went out to my car to go to dinner at 4:00 this afternoon, my dashboard thermometer read 104[sup]o[/sup]F outside.

woof. I like it when the kickstand on the motorbike sinks through the asphalt in the parking lot.

It’s cool and rainy–18C–in Toronto.

However, they’re predicting temperatures rising through the night, thunderstorms, and a high of 31C and mostly sunny, feeling like 43.

Yep. Summer weather.

It’s a bit hotter in Columbia. I always forget what it’s really like in the summer until it comes back. It won’t be a big deal in a few weeks when I’m used to it, but these first few hot days are hard.

52 and rainy today. Supposed to be more of the same tomorrow and through the weekend.

Wanna trade?

Yes, yes I want to trade! Me, trade with me! It’s not even far!
It was so humid today the concrete floors at work were sweating.

Can I quote you on that next time a MI Dopefest is proposed? Nobody EVER wants to come to da UP!

I was in New Orleans for a couple of weeks. Boy, it was hot! (But I’ve been there when it’s hotter.) A week ago Wednesday it was actually pleasant. But the rest of the time it was Sweatsville.

Got back to the PNW and temps are in the 50s with some rain. Unfortunately I picked up a cold on the plane, so I can’t go out and enjoy the cool weather.

Atlanta, Georgia. It’s officially “crotch weather”. Just made that up, but that’s what they should say on the Weather Channel.

Move to San Francisco. We don’t even have seasons here.

Well, not for this Saturday, but after that, sure!

A couple of us could caravan and carry everyone, save on gas, and get relief from the heat.

Hey, last time I went to da UP, I quite enjoyed it. It’s south of Sault Ste. Marie and easy to get to. And the south shore of Superior is beautiful.

We’ll just rename it to ‘South Algoma District’ after it joins Canada.

Just over 90 in Cincinnati today, with the ugly humidity a recent spate of severe thunderstorms and proximity to the Ohio River brings. That and the fact that living in or near the Ohio River Valley basically dictates little moving air.
It’s supposed to be 95 tomorrow and Saturday, and guess what…I get to work outside all day! YAY!

Guess what Toronto’s going to be breathing tomorrow? That’s right! Air from the Ohio Valley! Used air!

This air is already on its way here, it seems. When I left work, outside was noticeably warmer and more humid that when I arrived.

Going to 49C in UAE… 120F… and 90% humidity. Yikes!
