Correct me if I’m wrong, but isn’t it only early June? Why, then, is the temperature here (Greenville, SC) 95 degrees Fahrenheit today? And projected to be 97 by Sunday? Isn’t that jumping the gun on high summer just a weensy bit?
Good news, though! The projected high for Tuesday is down to 93 degrees! Whee! Better break out the long-johns.
Mundane and pointless indeed. I don’t do hot weather well.
I think the heat is why so many people have off tomorrow at my job. There’s only going to be 3 of us here. We are in a very old building that has less-than-efficient air conditioning. It works out well for them that it’s supposed to be 90-something degrees on a Friday so they get a 3 day weekend.
Hell up here it’s in the 90’s plus the wind is gusting up to 50 MPH. It’s like being in an industrial dryer. They didn’t call it the dust bowl for nothing.
I am from SC, and I swear I didn’t think I would ever miss humidity now I have a humidifier.
It’s a bit hotter in Columbia. I always forget what it’s really like in the summer until it comes back. It won’t be a big deal in a few weeks when I’m used to it, but these first few hot days are hard.
I was in New Orleans for a couple of weeks. Boy, it was hot! (But I’ve been there when it’s hotter.) A week ago Wednesday it was actually pleasant. But the rest of the time it was Sweatsville.
Got back to the PNW and temps are in the 50s with some rain. Unfortunately I picked up a cold on the plane, so I can’t go out and enjoy the cool weather.
Just over 90 in Cincinnati today, with the ugly humidity a recent spate of severe thunderstorms and proximity to the Ohio River brings. That and the fact that living in or near the Ohio River Valley basically dictates little moving air.
It’s supposed to be 95 tomorrow and Saturday, and guess what…I get to work outside all day! YAY!
