Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

The fact that McConnell is already making reference to doing battle with the “Biden administration” tells you everything you need to know about where he’s coming down on the question of fighting for Trump.

And the fact that Trump Republicans are trying to bully long-time Congressional Republicans into supporting them is also a big fat hint.

For those mentioning that Joe Biden has received the most votes beating Barry O’s 2008 record 72 million to 69 million…

There’s still 16 million votes to be counted nationwide. Joe is going to end up north of 80 million. Truly astonishing.

Thanks!

More detail on that:
“Around 14,000 Pennsylvania votes were just reported by Erie and Philadelphia counties (roughly split between them), and Biden captured more than 80 percent of those ballots. This updated count brought Trump’s lead in Pennsylvania below 100,000 votes to about 98,000 votes, or 1.5 percentage points (50.1 percent to 48.6 percent).”
Drip, drip, drip…

Nate Silver just reposted a claim that, of the 190,000 votes left to count in Nevada, 90% are from Clark County.

Silver says that, if this is true, “Nevada should be projected for Biden, IMO.”

No doubt forced to eat hamberders.

More from Nate Silver:

If 90 percent of the remaining ballots are from Clark County, Nevada should be projected for Biden, IMO.

[ninja’d]

NT Times just reported 6327 votes from very red (Trump+44) Crawford County (PA) that was 64% Biden. Philly mail-in votes have been running 92% Biden, Philly suburbs 70+%.

We’ll find out, won’t we?

Here, I’ll walk out on a limb and make a prediction: that, if Biden wins the Presidency, the turnout in the Georgia senatorial runoff/special election will be high on both sides. (I don’t know if they hold them at the same time; if they don’t, I’m making this prediction for the one they hold first, and also for the second one if and only if the D’s manage somehow to win the first. If the D’s lose the first, they may well not show up for the second – though they should, who knows if McConnell really is sick and will need replacing soon?)

If I’m wrong, you’re entitled to one genuine No-Prize (anybody else remember those?) sent by No-Mail, and most likely Not Arriving; but it comes with Bragging Rights Over thorny locust About This, which will arrive.

I’m taking every Nate Silver utterance with a pillar of salt…

…And Melanie, walking around with too much makeup, drunk and belligerent, yelling, “Who gives a FUCK about The Christmas!”.

Oh, I hope somebody at SNL has already thought of this and writing the script.

Oooh watch out! The streams are gonna cross!

I believe the date for senatorial runoffs is January 5. Hopefully GA will send an absentee ballot to everyone who got one for the general (but they probably won’t).

Thanks for that. It’s good to see that there’s some push-back.

The Georgia margin is under 10,000 now:

Trump: 49.48% (2,439,678 votes)
Biden: 49.29% (2,430,153 votes)

You’re on!

(I sincerely hope you’re right, so if you’re not, I’ll let you keep the No-Prize so you can save the no-postage.)

In this case, I’m willing to make an exception to the general rule.

Looks kinda like a lightsaber

Same.
