Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

Philly and Pittsburgh dropped a set of votes that put Biden outside of the 0.5% recount margin, 2 minutes before the calls were made. Additionally, some of these were provisionals, that broke for a similar percentage as non-provisionals, showing that there wasn’t expected to be a Trump lean in the remaining provisionals.

Joe.
Joe will keep us together.
Think of me, Joe, whenever
Some orange tub of shit comes around
Bringing me down
Have the Secret Service
Drag his ASS out of town …

[apologies to Captain & Tennille]

How about a few emoji high fives?

People all around us in my neighborhood are setting off fireworks. (Just hearing the pops – not bottle rockets or anything, but it’s cool to know lots of other people around me are happy and relieved, too.

ETA: A couple of big booms just went off that are upsetting my dog. :frowning:

Yep, they called it. I love seeing Fox News’s website while they project it. Seething, I’m sure.

Hell, I just lost 300 lbs!

5 years ago I could never imagine thinking “Thank God Joe Biden has been elected president!”, or to have imagined the surreal circumstances that have brought me to this point now. I am at the moment adrift, the world has just changed, the future has just changed, I have to find a new course in a world that has just edged slightly back from the precipice. We all need to find a new course that will take us far away from that cliff and hopefully never allow us to return.

How about socially distanced :fist_left:t2::fist_left:t2::fist_left:t2::fist_left:t2::fist_left:t2:

Now Dems need to secure those 2 Senate seats.

Congratulations to Not Trump and Not Pence!

Allegheny and Armstrong counties in Pennsylvania also updated their numbers, and that has put Biden above the 0.5-point mandatory recount margin statewide, 49.61 percent to 49.10 percent.

This is going to be a really enjoyable couple of months.

I despise the man and there is something rather wonderful in him having to endure the interregnum knowing he lost. He can’t dodge it and I suspect that he’ll find his enablers far less willing to help him out. He’s going to have to look into the cameras and either embarrass himself further (which he will hate) or admit defeat gracefully (which he doesn’t have in him) or deal with his irrelevancy (which will be the greatest wound of all)
I suspect he can’t stand this and it will be intolerable for him. Good. I was going to say he’ll stop being presidential in this period and revert to type but…who the fuck am I kidding? he never changed a jot.

Roll on the lawsuits (against Trump I mean)

Popped the cork and drinking Veuve Clicquot Ponsardin that was being saved for a special occasion.

Proud Pennsylvanians here.

SNL tonight should be fantastic!

Was driving, did I miss anything? :stuck_out_tongue:

Rudi Giuliani and the Trump legal team held a press conference at a Philadelphia landscaping company (!) just now - none of the major networks (including Fox) have covered it but the Trump team has put out a press release basically doubling down.

ISWYDT.

I still expect him to sneak out of town sometime before January. Under cover of darkness. Just slink away into the fog-shrouded night. That’s what he DOES-- he walks away.

I think they do better as the resistance than loyally supporting someone like Trump. They might secretly prefer this.

Sure, he is dreafully uninspiring but democracy did its work as I always thought it would.
The gap wasn’t as big as I hoped but I still think that is a combination of a relatively poor dem candidate and ongoing denigration of floating Trump voters who didn’t feel the dems were a welcoming place for them. No reason why that can’t be solved in time though.
