Election Day [Week][Month[s]] [Year] 2020 follow-along thread

Thing is, he probably just overplayed his hand by having verbal diarrhea at his rallies. Had he NOT begun claiming, weeks out, this would DEF be a rigged election, etc. In doing so he kind of insured that there would be extra attention paid, every detail abided.

Of especially magnified importance in a nation almost evenly divided, and purposely riled up to a knifes edge. Because everyone knew, results would be contested on the tiniest thing, (and he’s sooo good at that shit!) Instead they went painstakingly slow, it’s true, but now stand before cameras confidently and clearly attesting that they can 100% stand by the counts. His inability to produce any evidence proves it’s true, I think.

But, if he’d kept his giant maw shut, and started all this up after the vote, things might have been very different. It’s a big country, millions of votes, a myriad of systems in play, without that motivation to hyper vigilance, they might well have found some tiny irregularities…and wouldn’t things be in a mess then?

Oh man, look at that speaker line-up, this should be comedy gold — a victory rally for the loser!

As to all that babble about Big Tech - apparently Eventbrite pulled the invite for the event, saying it went against policy - and also sent everyone that had responded an automated email saying it had been canceled.:rofl:

So if the turnout is crappy, they’ll blame Eventbrite.

But when I predicted this would be the funniest horror movie ever, I never even dared dream this scene, a dozen people that are absolute freaking loons holding a big fake victory rally for the loser. I can just hear them chanting:

We’re Number Two!

Trump was first-runner up!
Loser Sleepy Joe came in next to last

I’m busting a gut just thinking about, all this rolling on the floor laughing is better than aerobics.

OK, it’s a little less funny that it’s happening during the height of a pandemic (it is, after all, still a horror movie)

I think it’s slowly dawning on the Republican leadership that they may have a problem.

I think all this reporting about him slowly coming to terms with his loss is bullshit. I think he still fully expects the Republican leadership to give him a second term in exchange for him not destroying them. He may still come close to acceptance for a few fleeting seconds after talking to someone half sane, but then Guiliani calls and gets him all ginned up again.

But I maintain that they are misinterpreting the moments where it seems he might be coming to terms with his loss. That’s not what’s happening, those are just weak spots in the new reality he’s been forced to rapidly create. As he builds that alternate reality, those chinks in the armor will disappear.

He’s not coming to terms with anything. Hang on!

Eh, you can just as easily argue this in the other direction. The fact that WI and PA were so close does not make me feel secure in razor-thin victories in AZ and GA. NC is another one that is teetering on the edge.

I honestly don’t think either party is in a comfortable place these days in regards to presidential races. There are a large enough number of uncertain battleground states and enough shifting of demographics that I don’t think “Blue Wall” or “Solid South” strategies are really safe anymore. The original Democratic Blue Wall was predicated on heavy blue-collar union support in the old Rust Belt. But the Rust Belt is rusting even as Southern cities are liberalizing.

First thing I thought when looking at the rocket they are using in that graphic.

Well, this is just factually wrong, as a few minutes googling indicates:

Indian Army Rules, 1954, s. 9, as posted by the Ministry of Defence of India:

I was not doubting you at all. I worked for the Yavapai Recorder’s office during the 2000 elections. I saw first hand how strict and double checked the entire process was. I’m pretty sure the process has become even more transparent now.

I was just laughing about the Rep’s knowing that while voters here can be idiots, the process is too clean to bother with.

Just in case you were wondering, here are PornHub’s top Election Week searches by state.

If you hear someone say this remind them that second place is first loser.

I quickly read this as “a colonic irritation”, and I was okay with the thought that it would give him a dose of reality. Any reality will never happen, but I was briefly soothed.

“colonic irrigation”, “colonic irritation” - ain’t nothing that a good bleach enema can’t do.

Pretty much all Castro all the way down. The hate is intense.

I’ve been thinking the answer to the socialism attack is not defense, but attack back - point out all the ways that Trump and the GOP are similar to Castro and the commies - subsidies for favored industries, massive and mostly unnecessary military spending increases, deliberate lying and gaslighting, incredible nepotism, etc.

I just thought the cite was interesting and explained the situation more clearly than I did.

I love the sound of lawsuits getting slapped down.

It makes such a succulent sound!

Well, then. Let’s add this one, too!

Although knowing this crowd, someone has already posted this one upthread.

She had every right, didn’t she? I’m glad she got to tweet it!

Here is some GOP election fraud:

Basically the repubs snuck in a independent in several races- with the same last name as the Dem candidate. This siphoned off a few votes, just enuf to win in one case, and the counts is close in the other.
