Got my Elite (and 2550 reports for the CG) around 4 this morning.

Just used my exploration profits to A-spec the Python. Left the bulkheads alone, though.
Top 5% in the CG = nearly half of the cost of those upgrades. 
Had my first successful surface mission last night: 380K to take out ten skimmers in ten hours. Completed it in less than two.
Got the mission from a military installation so I also picked up a few goodies to sell at their black market and four occupied escape pods that can be turned in later.
Keys to successful base assault missions: dumb-fire rockets, and Point Defense turrets.
Managed to finally solo a 'Conda in the upgraded Python. Took out both of us, though; I can only assume that some debris came through my blown canopy.
Poked around in the latest beta a little bit. Wasn’t able to jump systems until self-destructing.
Really like the new station audio. New mission system will take a little getting used to. Not sure but it appears that charging FSD will negate being interdicted if FSD is activated before the interdiction attempt.
2.1/1.6 patch “Engineers” happening soon (20:30 GMT, today 5/26/16.) For those who have been out of the game for a bit, now is a good time to return.
I’ll be running the updater while I’m working. 
Sure hope that interdictions will no longer happen while FSD is charging. All I know is that I got a warning while I had FSD charging and nothing else happened.
According to Steam, my box is capable of VR and in high/ultra to boot.
Bought a Federal Corvette and hanging out in a Pristine Metallic ring. First time using collector drones, very useful with such a large cargo capacity.

The Corvette is an awesome ship, I love mine. However, I’m mostly using my Python these days in mission running and Engineer mats collecting.
I wonder if The Bad Astronomer is aware that he has a presence in the game (Plait Orbital, Reiensei).

I like the look of the 2.2 stuff right enough. A lot of people seem to be bitching about it, but I like the idea of carrying passengers.
