Incidentally, there are some nice advantages to flying in wings. For example, you get dividends paid to you based on a percentage of what your wingmate sells in the commodities market. This works both ways! It does not come out of the seller’s profit, either.
I wish the game would allow for sharing missions, but it’s pretty easy for everyone in the wing to stack things like pirate killing missions and then work together. Also working together on CGs is fun.
I’ve been very busy for the past week; I’ll be back in the game soon. After all, I’m just about half a rank shy of Rear Admiral in the Federal Navy Auxiliary! I’m still a few hundred million credits shy of a Corvette, however. One of these days…
I’m hoping to get enough credits on this voyage in the void to hit Elite in exploration. The nice thing about Captain’s Log is that it gives an estimated total of all discoveries but everything has to be put in manually. If I can time my return to coincide with an exploration CG, all the better.
Maybe I’ll have enough credits from exploration and eventual progression through Post Captain to buy that Corvette.
Even if I get to the point when I could buy a Corvette (and surely I want one), I admit I wonder how much I’m likely to really fly it, with its utterly pathetic jump range.
Thanks - I’ll take your advice about shield boosters. And your group is the one just called “Mobius” in the group list, yes? Not “Mobius One” or “Mobius Will Kick Your Arse” or whatever else is available.
I’m in my 200[sup]th[/sup] system since keeping track with Captain’s Log (not counting systems visited prior to my last insurance claim). When I visited, 65 of these systems had no name on them and seventeen had been partially discovered.
Closer to attaining Elite in exploration than I thought. Unless things have changed since the ED wiki was last updated, I need another 51 million (ten less than previously thought) and the data I’m carrying at the moment is at least 13½% there.
To make up for the recent server issues, credit rewards for missions, bounties, and combat bonds are being bumped 20% when turned in until 1400 GMT Tuesday.
I’ve outfitted my Anaconda for exploring. With a jump range at just under 36 ly per jump, equipped with a 6A Fuel Scoop, Auto Field-Maintenance Unit, Heat Sinks, and two SRVs, I think this might be the current ultimate exploration craft. Tonight I venture forth.
Gave up on using Captain’s Log to keep track of discoveries, it never really recovered from the freezing problem created by logging over 4000 planetary bodies. Will continue to log systems visited to have an idea of when I should turn around.
