Even though the story is already kind of old, I did a quick search and didn’t see any threads on this.
I think she will do a great job…(personally, I have always wanted to see Bette Midler host)…but Ellen has already done the job for the Emmy’s and was good.
I’ve never found her to be particularly amusing. Her delivery is. . .odd. . .and most of her material barely rates a chuckle. The bits I’ve seen of her network show are just annoying. Guess I’ll be skipping it.
Yeah, I think that’s why I like her – she’s just kind of pleasantly surreal – like a more talkative Stephen Wright or something.
I think that’s funny.
Of course, my first preference would be Jon Stewart … oh well, at least it ain’t Billy Crystal.
I was on a plane-flight where they were playing some of her old stand-up on the radio-armrest thingy. I thought it was pretty funny.
I like her very much but think she will bomb big time at this gig. I just can’t see her in the role.
Ellen cracks me up and I’m looking forward to seeing her as host. I like twickster’s comparison of her to Stephen Wright, but she also has her own style. I especially like when she winds up weaving random bits of pop culture into her stories, because my brain works like that too. For example:
