Embarrassing confessions

I used to get up 20mins earlier than I had to during the week so I could watch “Biker Mice from Mars”. It was Throttle, I tell you, he made me do it.

I sing along with the car radio in “humorous” voices. Also, I change the lyrics to most of the songs in very immature ways.

I’m very politically liberal. I’m a feminist. I’m an animal lover.

And yet I can’t stop watching professional bull riding. I love it. I’m totally addicted. I know the riders’ names and stories. I know some of the bulls’ names. We’re actually considering going to a live event, possibly the finals in October.

I’m so ashamed.

I hate ‘Reality TV’…all of it. When I joked about there being a 'Survivor: Viaquez", with inhabitants having to dodge inbound Navy shells, a part of me was hoping it would actually happen. (I suppose there’s always have Bimini Atoll w/o radiation suits…)

I hate American Idol, all its judges, all its singers, all its songs. If Al-Qaeda took them all out, I’d throw a party (but only if they could verify they definately got ‘Simon’).

‘The Amazing Race’ people need to be directed through numerous different un-marked minefields.

The audience of ‘Dancing with the Stars’ needs to be peppered with angry/drunk frat guys with rotten fruit and half-bricks.

‘The Batchelor’ show should hook its contestants up to a rich man/woman… with Ebola.

Big Brother should have its doors sealed and all food/water cut off. The winner would be decided by who didn’t die of starvation after 8 weeks.

Every third suitcase in ‘Deal or No Deal’ should be an anti-personnel mine. Or an Uzi, with which the model gleefully strafes the contestants and the host. Bonus points if she can lob a grenade through the bankers booth and finally get Blofeld.

When I go to visit my mother-in-law, I read ALL her Good Housekeeping and Reader’s Digest magazines.

I think the perfect dinner is Bugles and Jack Daniels.

And I used to watch The Love Boat, because (and I told my boyfriend this, yet he married me anyway) “the characters are so NICE.”

I LOVE Reader’s Digest magazines and always will. (Although the quality has declined since the 1970s.)

I’m not even embarrassed about it.

(If I laughed at the jokes, I’d be embarrassed.)

I’m still hooked on COPS, and I TiVo it every week.

Also, I use “TiVo” as a verb.

Thank you for reminding me that I want to start watching Beyond the Bull again!

I liked The Craft and Queen of the Damned.
I used to watch Power Rangers all the time.
I played with Barbies until I was 13.
The only Shakespeare plays I’ve read from beginning to end are The Tempest, Othello, Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Macbeth. (I have a BA in English literature and am currently doing my MA in the same.)

I still occasionally play D&D. In fact I am the DM. I am 40 and I have played since I was 10. Yep that’s right before AD&D even existed.

To match Mr Bus Guy’s liking the Cowsills, I still like the Monkeys.

I am still quite happy to sit down and watch Classic or the New Adventures of Scooby Doo with my kids. I enjoy it as much as they do.

I like Mambo #5. {The Shame, the Shame!}

Count Blucher, how were those Embarrassing confessions?

The Chao Goes Mu I also cry at the end of Breakfast At Tiffany’s every time I watch it. (only about 5 times though)

The New and Improved Superman - What is wrong with the “the Greatest Hits of Mama Cass.” She was a great singer. She died far too young. She was one of the few Rock & Roller that my Father loved as much as us kids and that now us kids love. (Well for my kids as one of the Mammas)

I own The Chronicles of Riddick. The director’s cut, no less.

I still have all my cassette tapes from the pre-CD-player days. Hilights include Bananarama, Billy Bragg, mixed tapes from boyfriends, and a complete collection of REM right up to Automatic for the People.

(The best one by far is “Rock 86.” Starship! Katrina and the Waves! That tape has it all!)

I have brought them with me each of the dozen times I’ve moved. I can’t bring myself to get rid of them even though I no longer own a cassette tape player.

Maybe its a science thing - I’m a research assistant/lab manager and I love to watch those shows. Must. . . feel. . . superior!

Whenever I’m in a bookstore, I compare the cover titles of the lads’ mags to the women’s. I swear the editors are in cahoots.
Lads’ Mag: How to get her to do your naked bidding in bed!
Ladies’ Rag: What he really wants you to do for him!

I read comic books. The Preacher, Hellboy and The Sandman are my favorites. I have also read 1601, The Truth and The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (love trying to identify the literary references). Only Mouse_Spouse knows about this, and that’s because he found my stash!

I know that my cats call me “She Who Feeds.”

I love *The Girls Next Door * - really love it. Except Kendra gets on my nerves, she’s very pretty buy annoying.

I used to watch Wild On but haven’t really liked it since Brooke left.

I am still scared of the boogeyman and don’t like watching horror movies because my own imagination is freaky enough.
Ultimately I want to be a writer - but am nervous about finishing a book and submitting it.

I hate working nine-to-five, i am just not an office person.

HAH! I finally got rid of mine when I was 16 or 17.

ALSO - I walk aroung my house “pretending”. It’s like I am in a movie or play and acting all the parts (yes, even the “voices”). :o

I am sure my husband has noticed, but he doesn’t say anything about it.

I will occasionally read it just for the bad jokes. Yep, certified loser. Somehow I really enjoy the cheesy jokes.

I do laugh at the jokes. :o

I have a subscription. :o :o

I love Barry Manilow.
I’m sorry. I’ll go now.

Don’t go. I share the Manilow love.

Because,

He writes the songs that make the whole world sing.
He writes the songs of love and special things.
He writes the songs that make the young girls cry.
He writes the songs, He writes the songs.

We have a big rodeo in town here every July called the Calgary Stampede. Come see us some time.

It’s on the To Do list. I visited Calgary and the Canadian Rockies once with my family when I was a kid, and I absolutely loved it. For the longest time I wanted to move there. The Stampede just makes it that much more exciting. Unfortunately, by the time we looked in to it this year, it was really too late to get the trip planned. But maybe next year!
