You realize that if you do not Pit me in the next 5 days you become my biyatch. Just sayin’.

Glad to help. And you don’t have to be my biyatch.
Great, another job rejection.
Thanks DSYoungEsq. (your name always makes Come Sail Away pop into my head)
I’d be glad to sponsor a Doper or Doper wannabe who just can’t afford his or her own membership. Email me and I’ll send a check.

Hello TubaDiva,
I am writing this email in the hopes that you may be able to tempt someone to sponsor my membership. Since letting my subscription lapse, I have found lurking to be insufficient for my daily SDMB fix and itch to get involved in some of threads. I am asking someone to sponsor my membership because I have neither a Paypal account nor a credit card (nor the inclination to obtain either in the near future). I don’t fancy tapping up the old man to use his credit card again. In a teeny, tiny reciprocal gesture for a fellow doper’s generosity, I promise to give ten of our fine British pounds (roughly $20) to charity.
Thanks and regards,
Hogwash

Thanks to both Q.E.D. and TubaDiva. Much appreciated.

Hi TubaDiva,
I’m not sure you’ll recognize my screenname – I was TellMeI’mNotCrazy before my membership lapsed. I simply don’t have a way to renew my membership through the available means (no PayPal, no credit card). I know that there are membership sponsorship request threads, but of course, I have no way of posting to it without breaking any rules.
I was just wondering if you happen to have any suggestions in this regard – thanks in advance J
Thanks J

Endless thanks to Tom B and TubaDiva for their help!
Woo, it’s been so long
And you got to keep your Charter Member status
Yeah I’ve been wondering how that managed to squeak through… Oh well - woo hoo!
SHHHHH!
don’t tell anybody.
Actually, probably not, it’s just that the system didn’t change the User Title to reflect the change in status, it’s an intermttent ongoing glitch in the subscription system.
If you were a Charter Member and your subscription expired, you are no longer a Charter Member.
If your subscription cost $14.95 you’re not a Charter Member.
A recent check of the system reveals a lot of people with “Guest” status who still have Charter Member user titles. At some point the system will catch up to itself and all those changes will kick in. So don’t be surprised.
Sorry.
The good news is that, if I understand correctly, every time someone runs a message board search, that delays the system (and consequently your title change) by approximately two weeks.
Hi, I was directed to this area after making mention that I’ve been a lurker for a while, but don’t really have the money at this time. I actually feel really apprehensive to ask for this from anyone… but here I am. I don’t know if any kind of personal biography is necessary, but I will say that I’m a college student and a medic in the Pensylvania National Guard.
Um, thank you!
No, you don’t need a personal biography. But the National Guard reference got you in.

I’m in the unfortunate position of having to ask for help this year. Could one of my fellow dopers help me out?
Dang, Shodan, you can’t catch a break.
You’re good to go. SDMB2008022013405101983101
I’ve been offline for a few days. Thank you so much!
