Why does the catch-22 exist for Deafdyke? Would it be possible to just allow her new account to run under normal guest status, even posting messages, since I’ve promised to pay her subscription fees? The timing is pretty awkward - she must sign up, but can’t post until she contacts me and I pay her fee.
IMH (but obviously biased) O, I don’t understand the rationale in denying the new account normal guest status; if anything, we’re less likely than the typical new user to engage in bad behavior, since there is a sincere offer from an established member to pay. If she joins and I don’t pony up the dough, then that’s two people who face losing an account instead of just one.
In a sense, I’m offering my own account as collateral against a loan where we borrow time from the admins’ good graces. 
Now, having said that…
I too will be away on a business trip starting tomorrow and lasting until maybe Wednesday. I will try to check on this thread daily, but no guarantees. Please PM me (which should send me an email notification), or better yet just email me, if you need to reach me before I get back. If my hotel room doesn’t deliver on the advertised internet access* then I might not be able to respond until I get back home.

So, I guess I am tossing my name into the pile of people who would love to be paid members of the Dope, but do not have the means to secure such for themselves.
My sob story has primarily to do with my starving student / starving musician status. But that being said, I have long been a fan of this message board, and I really would truly enjoy having an opportunity to further contribute it.

Hi all, just throwing my name out there for consideration. My guest membership expires on August 21st, and I’d really like to stick around. I would be more than willing to take over payment of the account as soon as it becomes feasible for me, probably at the end of the year when I go full time at my current job.
