Sounds OK to me, but therein may hang her catch-22. She’s already exhausted a thirty-day guest membership here. So if she starts another one and pleads her case for adoption to the tribunal and the gallery and gets shot down, then you’ll have to terminate her account immediately for violating the rule against multiple guest memberships. If nobody ponies up right away, it’ll be her first and last post here.
Shouldn’t you wait for **TubaDiva ** to sort this out in the AM? This is her particular bailiwick. Hopefully she has already been emailed about this.

Errrm…yeah, I guess so. I hadn’t thought of that. I thought the rules were pretty much chiseled in granite around here. She’s the one who originally chastised DeafDyke. She appeared genuinely sympathetic, though—it wasn’t as if she leapt from her throne screaming “off with her sock”! So I’ll sit tight and see what she says.
Also, if anybody does this for me, then I will sponsor any member of your choosing after Mrs. Talkingape and I get back on our feet.

Did she have a previous guest membership? Maybe I’m forgetting something; I thought the issue was that she was sharing an account with another guest, which isn’t allowed. Either way I’ll inform Tuba and let her work this out.
As I told her back when all this started – and Marley also informed her – she needs to register her own screen name/account here at the Dope.
That’s all we ever objected to, we wanted her to have her own account, it’s one account to a person here. She was sharing the account she was using with someone else.
So once she registers her own account y’all can then work out the membership part and she can move forward. She’s not entitled to another 30 day free trial on that new account, btw.

DeafDyke was banned here, entering that screen name she used would not work. She needs to register her own name and then immediately email the info over to Subway Prophet - no 30-day trial - who can then register her as a full member.
Since she seems to be communicating with you and didn’t respond to her previous emails, could you please tell her this, Washoe?

Yes, this is getting thoroughly confusing. AFunnyNameGoesHere was banned. DD was using somebody else’s account to post. She inadvertently got her friend banned, not herself. Hopefully this can be rectified too. If the e-mail/PM problem arises, I’ll act as a go-between. We’ll hammer it out somehow.
DeafDyke is the name she uses on the AllDeaf message board. She used AFunnyNameGoesHere here, and that name has been banned.

It could have been rectified pre-banning if either of them had just registered a separate account and posted from that instead of sharing one, which is against the rules. If her friend wants to come back, she can contact Tuba. We explained the situation on the board and in emails.
Catch—22 again. If her friend (AFNGH) had done this, the friend violates the one person/one account rule. If DD had done this, she would have violated the no-multiple-guest-memberships rule.
Anyway, I e-mailed DD with instructions to set up a guest account here, but not to post anything, and then to contact me immediately through any means other than the SDMB.

Remember, DeafDyke used to have a guest membership here, which she used a long time ago. She cannot have another one. AFunnyNameGoesHere is not DeafDyke—she used her friend’s account, which resulted in that friend being banned. If either the friend or DeafDyke started a guest membership, that person would have violated the SDMB TOS.
My guest account ends on the 31 st of July .
