Enterprise: Babel One Spoilers

Yeah, I was just thinking of cutting out a piece of cloth and taping it on that pic so it would look like she was wearing a scarf over those bones.

Ya know, even a lover of skinny chicks like me would have a problem with how she looks now.

Having her legs wrapped around me would likely cause some major contusions to my kidneys. Not to mention that fucking a girl that thin would be very much like maturbating into a wet sock. IOW, not very appealing anymore.

Too bad, she used to be pretty damn hot, as far as my tastes go.

I’ve never found her that attractive and it’s not just because she’s tiny, either. Hell, I LOVE tiny… Nana Visitor, Linda Park, and Nicole de Boer are all probably around 5’2" and can’t weigh very much at all but they’re all healthy looking and have great figures whereas Jolene Blalock looks like a stick with a fishead and grapefruits glued to it.

Not appealing at all.

Good gad, man how can you post that?
You know the woman hangs on your every word.
She’s crushed! The psychological damage…

:dubious:
She has me on ignore.

Seems we disagree about whether or not Shelaht style is romantic.

Is that where one of you kills and devours the other afterwards?

Or is it before?

^:)^

It involves a horn in a very prominent way.

And other pointy things.

Hey, it’s all green on the inside.

Hey, what the…?!

VULCANS DON’T SMILE!

A point which I shall not pursue.

Watch the TOS pilot sometime, pal.

^:dubious:^

Spock is half human so he can’t be used as a yardstick for Vulcan behaviour.

There is no need to be insulting. ^:)^

I’m 5’3". Is that tiny enough?

Except it wasn’t. They pulled out the hose and the fitting on the end miraculously perfectly matched a fitting on a piece of alien equiptment, one designed as part of a propulsion system, fer cryin’ out loud!

Now what would have been cool was if he’d taken some sort of device out of his suit, stuck it on the end of the hose on the standard fitting, and stuck it on the side of the O2 pipe where it sealed itself to the pipe, drilled a hole into the thing, refilled the O2 tank, then sealed the hole. That would be a tool designed to work under extreme conditions!

It’s not a big deal but it is a Hollywood SF tendendency that gets on my nerves and I feel occasionally compelled to point it out. It bugs me when ships designed by different species can swap parts like it’s nothing (sure, I’ve got some spare injectors and I’ll trade you for a set of warp coils). I can take two computers, one home-built and the other built by Dell (for example) and I wouldn’t be able to swap many of the parts. These devices, designed and built by human engineers using the same level of technology and intended to perform essentially the same function are not interchangeable. But alien engineers, working from a completely different history of design, somehow build engines with parts that are either easily adaptable or even completely interchangable with Starfleet parts. Right.

It’s just one of those things that jumps out at me every now and then and jolts me out of suspension of disbelief. I usually just roll my eyes and go back to enjoying the story.

I agree on both points, except for the bit about the gloves. The type of dexterity required for EVA work would likely be different than what’s necessary for medical work. Additionally, because EVA suits would have to work in a vacuum, the gloves would probably have to have more sturcture in order to maintain their integrity.

However, considering the concerns about contamination, they should be equiped with with a medical version of the suit, designed to work in an atmosphere and with greater dexterity. Then you wouldn’t have silliness like sick away teams having to medicate themselves.

In light of this revelation and the happy fun ball, yes. Yes, it is.

Semi-related hijack: Do you have any interest at all in the West Coast Fest that’s being discussed off and on in MPSIMS? It might even be held in Reno so there’s an opportunity to lose some wages and everything.

I’ll check it out, though I’d be more inclined if it were closer than Reno.
Hey, all: Marina Sirtis has denied rumors that she and Jonathan Frakes will appear on ENT.

So maybe we can relax.

Well, it’s a West Coast thing. That’s already close to a thousand miles for people in Oregon and even more for the Washingtonians. **Linus **should come too. Peoria’s as far from Reno as Salem is. ENTFest!

And thank god re: Troi and Riker. The idea of them on ENT makes me twitch.

Super Ditto on the Troi and Riker.

Good god - I don’t even want to imagine how they thought they’d work that in.

“Work it in”? You mean, like, integrate the characters into the plot in an organic fashion, using them to enhance the world and story of Enterprise in a narratively cohesive and dramatically satisfying manner?

This is the Bermaga you’re talking about. Riker and Troi would have been “worked in” just like taking a shit on a pizza is “working it in.”

“Work it in.” Heh. Heh heh.

Spacecraft 2000 to 2100 AD?

The Romulan ship does bear a faint resemblance to the AAF 212 “Hornet”.
