This is a nice adventure episode, Spiner does well. It’s nice to see JG Hertzler of General Martok fame. There is an Orion slave girl.
There is a problem in the last five minutes. It really, really sucks. I offer this explanation:
Malik gets the drop on Archer and tells Malcolm and the marine to lower their weapons. Now, this is Malcolm, who when the bad guy from the wild west episode held a gun to T’Pol, shrugged and stunned him in what I consider to be a classic Trek scene. But they lower their weapons and Malik drags Archer around like a doll.
I’ll attempt to believe that Malix could have broken Archer’s neck as he was being stunned-it’s a good adventure episode. Keep that excuse for getting Malcolm to lower his phase pistol in mind. You’ll need it.
Dammit, this wouldn’t happen to Kirk. He beats Supermen senseless with pieces of his beloved Enterprise. The real one.
^:dubious:^
How the hell did Kirk manage to get a piece of the real Enterprise? By the time he makes Captain, the thing will’ve been sunk for half a millennia and next to useless as a tool for bludgeoning. :dubious:
Thank god…I was no fan of Faith of the Heart at first, but a) it’s grown on me, b) it’s PART of Enterprise, and c) The idea of having Archer do a TOS/TNG voiceover was stupid.
A DS9/Voyager style instrumental without a voice-over would have been great - if they’d done it in the first season. But a VO would never have worked, and now FotH is so deeply ingrained as part of the show, it just won’t work.
I would have liked them to keep the music, but compress the current visuals to half the song (up to "'Cuz I got faith…) and then use Enterprise flying around for the remainder.
I feel like we have to take a firm stand against this kind of thing, lest we get a Timberlake-clone single for the long-rumored Starfleet Academy series.
Well, plant, the teaser shows those guys to be pretty damn strong. Remember, almost everyone in Trekkerverse seems to have superior strenght to hoomahns (with a few, notable exceptions), yet thse guys handled the Klinghoppers quite handily.
Who was that first Klinghopper shown? Even with the make up, he looked very familiar.
Changing the opening sequence now would be a shame. I’ve finally gotten used to it.
Orion sexy babe slave! Yowsa.
Good thing this is a multi parter. It’s as disjointed as our Finish This stories are at the start.
Tritanium cobalt. Great…
Another Southern boy dig. At least tripp handled it well.
Mutiny on the HMS Bounty. Homage to TWOK/TSFS?
Neo is dead.
Jolly Green Giants are tough.
I think I saw a Xindi humanoid in the compound!
Soong is ruthless even with himself.
