OK, so who is The Chef? I am still pulling for Whoopie Goldberg.
There’s this Friday’s, the two mirror universe eps, and then a three part finale ( I think the final two eps are shown on the same night, but they were made to be viewed as separate but linked).
But, somehow, all six are supposed to be interrelated, tho it might be by the slimmest of threads.
There were negotiations with the goal of having Shatner as Chef and an ancestor of Kirk, but he balked at that. Then, he was to be in the mirror universe, but sources say he nixed that, too.
We’ll see.
He’s doing more important things now.
“Bound,” then the Mirror Universe two-parter, then “Demons,” “Terra Prime” and “These are the Voyages…”
That’s all she wrote.
I’m sure somebody has already suggested this somewhere, but why not get Isaac Hayes to play the chef?
carnivorousplant has been asking for Isaac Hayes as Chef for the past year or two.
Not that I’m keeping track.
"And how are my little Trekin’ crackers today?
Don’t wear that red shirt down to the planet, son!"
Wow. I hadn’t paid attention, and thought it was already over. I’ll give the last six eps a whirl.
Shatner as chef would have been a nice twist, although given how Scotty turned out in old age, an ancestor of his might have been more appropriate…
Chef, singing to T’Pol:
"When a man loves a Vulcan,
It’s hard to understand
That she would find more pleasure
in the arms of an engineer.
Beam her over, transporter
Beam her into my life
Gonna give her some lovin’
Gonna cook it up right!"
I generally roll my eyes at the show’s lame attempts to feature cheesecake, but I gotta say, Orion slave girls are old school, so I can’t really object.
On the other hand, they’ll no doubt figure out some way for them to suck, and not in a good way.
I hate that I find myself gritting my teeth and psyching myself up to watch Trek lately. Six more, and the agony will be over. Replaced with a new agony.
Ahh, bugger.
Here’s a pic of what the crew is supposed to look like in the finale, six years after the events of “Terra Prime”…They don’t look all that different except that T’Lips grew some hair and Phlox lost some. Trip hasn’t changed his haircut since he was a tot.
Hoshi looks nice…
Well, considering what they’ve been doing lately, the’ll find a way to insinuate that one of them is an ancestor to a TOS Orion slave girl. She’ll be named Marta, or have a thing for men named Garth, or say somehting like “did you know that every 4th generation in my family goes crazy? I expect that my great-great granddaughter will be an institutionalized homicidal maniac.” Something subtle and clever like that.
Holy body-painted psychopath! Did you know that Marta was played by Yvonne Craig?
Of course. And I read an interview with her once where she said William Shatner complained when she accidentally got green makeup on his toupee.
Hi, Linus.
<snort> At first glance, I read “toupee” as “tongue.”
Hi, Viva.
Oh, BTW, Cervaise, I’ve gotten hooked on another SF series which shall remain nameless. I blame you.
It was Bound to happen.
