Remember, the last two eps will show on the same night, May 13th, (Friday the 13th!? An Omen?) so we have only two more weeks of new Star Trek and then at least two to three years before any possible new series, some estimates at 5 or more years.
So, will Manny make us enjoy this ep? Or will it be chock full of over the top hamming and too many self referencing in jokes and nods? (A few are OK, what’s gone on lately is a bit much.)
How did a Gorn get on board?
Will this MU ep somehow tie back in to franchise canon? (There was no character tie in relating the two universes, simply the NCC -17xx style ship.) Or will it forever stand alone as an exercise in they could’ve done?
Stay tuned!
So, we get a Cinco de Mayo episode, and then a 2fer on Friday the 13th.
After that, oblivian…
…darkness…
…to sleep, perchance to dream…
…and Gin and Tonics all around!
The final ep actually isn’t part of the next arc, tho it will tie in. It takes place six years after the events of the current timestream, and doesn’t really take place even then, as it will be told in flashback apparantly. Bergama claims it to be an homage for the entire franchise and their statements have an air of resigned finality about them.
Whatever comes in the future from Star Trek, it won’t be from anyone now or previously involved in it. It might not even come from Paramount, if some of the other rumors are true.
I don’t know whether to praise Malcolm for quick thinking or to nit pick a minor point. In the NX era, they “polarise the hull plating” to help combat the effects of enemy fire. So, was Malcolm being a genius boy to figure out that the Defiant has shields and that they could use them to weaken the docking clamps? or did the writers forgeta minor point of NX canon?
Now we need an episode about the virus the Gorn caught. :smack:
The Ambassador in a Spokesque goatee fellated.
Better than last week, though.
Mrs. Plant and I noted that we had no interest in how the resolution of the episode; these aren’t “our” characters, and won’t effect any Trek plots. I did think that since Archer helps found the Federation in “our” universe, he would have some effect on the Empire in his.
An interesting ending despite out lack of interest; it could afford to be amusing.
yes, and the big bad Gorn brought down, literally, by someone moving a slider a few notches to increase the grav plating force.
Nice trick though. just think of all the times in all the series a battle, escape, security alert, etc could have been easily settled just by increasing the gravity on a few key floor panels… Too bad only one enterprise captain ever thought of it.
Wait a couple of days and the DVD will be in the mail.
Remember when I lied to you :
“She’s naked most of the time and says things like ‘Damn, I wish Aes were here! That hot young stud rocks my world!’”?
Subsitute every other males name for Aes and you got it.
Hoshi is Forest’s mistress. Archer’s actions lead to Forest’s death. Hoshi becomes Archer’s mistress. The plan, by Admiral whatshisname was to steal Defiant brought from “our” universe and future by the Tholians. Archer imprisons Forest, Captain of Enterprise. While Archer and a boarding party are stealing Defiant, the Tholians destroy Enterprise and Forest dies. Various crew escape including one pissed off Hoshi.
Archer uses Enterprise to defy Admiral Whatshisname and declare himself Emperor. Hoshi poisions his hooch in league with Mayweather and declares herself empress.
Damn my local UPN station! Friday night they had a baseball game on, so I had to wait until Saturday at 6 PM to catch the second part of the MU show.
I really liked how they re-did the opening and closing sequences for the MU, although I didn’t particularly care for the music. I feel compelled to admit, though, that one of my very favorite things about Enterprise has been that they have used my family name as the name of one of the characters. Can’t say which one, though, without revealing a bit too much about myself personally (drat!). Even though it is a fairly common name (hey, there was an episode of “Kojak” that had a character with my first & last name!!!), it does personalize it a bit when you hear the characters calling your name, so to speak.
I am really going to miss having ST, but at least I have many of the shows on tape. My prayer now is that whenever they put together the next show - and there -will- be another series - that they DO IT THE RIGHT WAY … and don’t let Berman and Braga -anywhere- near it. PLEASE!!!
