I’m seeing HBO saying new episodes for Entourage on June 17th, this is a treat! I thought we would have to wait another 9 months before it returned.

I read that too. Almost no break between the end of the third season and the start of the fourth. Unusual!
That’s right. Tonight’s episode was the finale of the third season, and the fourth starts in two weeks. I think HBO is doing this to support the new series that are starting.
Interestingly, it seems to be a break from the usual pattern of the series. Normally every season begins with the release of Vince’s last picture and ends with them closing the deal on his next picture. Looks like next season we’re actually going to see them filming Medaein (sp?).
I guess I don’t understand why this is a new season and not just the same season after a short hiatus. I mean, we’re seeing a break shorter than we’ve had between House episodes from the same season…

Mmmmmmmmm, Sloan.
Yum.
That’s all I got.
It definitely seems like they’re promoting their new comedy seasons with Entourage followups.
Looking like a good summer of TV from HBO.
Thought I’d resurrect this thread because obviously no one cared for/about the episode enough to start a new one.
That episode was mostly crap. I hope they never do THAT again.
Who wrote this garbage? a twelve year old? there were some good lines in it, but the whole backstage dvd extra thing was so poorly planned and executed.
What crew would want to interview Turtle? Who interviews the agent for the star of the film? (as he’s getting on the elevator?!)
crap crap crap. Please be good next week. Or at least just don’t be bad.
I kind of liked it, as a one-time different sort of episode. (Did you notice that the book on producing that Eric had was written by Bob, the older producer played by Martin Landau? I thought it was a nice touch.) Next week, they return to LA.
I liked the episode quite a bit. Billy Walsh is such a character. I also loved the book by Martin Landau’s character. “What if I were to tell you I had a 12-inch cock… is that something you might be interested in?”
This was my first episode of Entourage. I liked it a lot, I had heard it was good and it lived up to expectations… Now I’m already hooked, though.
Did anyone see the Flight of the Conchords after Entourage? Hilarious!
The mock-u-mentary stuff, by now, is clearly WAY overdone.
But, as a one episode thing, I can live with it. There were some great Billy Walsh moments, “Percolating, suit. . .percolating!”.
I liked the scene with E and Billy when Billy tells him “that was the first positive thing you’ve ever said to me.”
I was thinking they would spend half the season filming in Columbia, but I’m glad they’re going back to LA to deal with the other side of it right off.
Also, when Vinnie Chase was Vinnie, but in fat make-up, very funny.
I highly recommend renting the earlier seasons of Entourage. It’s interesting to see the rise of Vinnie’s Hollywood career, and how he and the other guys handle life in LA. Plus Ari (Vinnie’s agent) is by far the best character in the show, and he was mild in this episode. (In particular, he’s great in the second to last episode of the second season.)
So I guess I was the only one who kept thinking about the mock-u-mentary filming, and couldn’t get past the fact that none of that would’ve been shot, much less edited together. The on-set romance where everyone is giving confessionals?! I just couldn’t get past it.
But I did like it that Drama got the girl and a part in the final scene
Was that him that looked at the camera with the mustache and yelled something?
I asked the wife, “was the Drama?” but she wasn’t sure either.
Yeah, that was Drama.
I didn’t recognize Vince as Pablo! I’m looking all over the place, wondering what part he’s playing.
I gotta say though, from what little bit I saw, Medellin looks like crap. Maybe the magic happens in the editing room.
It looked like a Colombian version of Scarface to me. Impossible to tell whether it’s good or bad.
And, the filming issues definitely seemed to hint at some of the stories that you hear about Coppola filming Apocalypse Now (or that you can see in the documentary Hearts of Darkness). So, it might be hailed as one of those “forged from the crucible” movies.
My guess is they did it for DVD sale purposes.
I think on a couple of occasions last season they referred to Escobar as the Colombian Scarface. I gotta say though, Vinnie in fat makeup was a joke. No way that film can be taken seriously. He looked like Jiminy Glick.
I thought the fat makeup looked all right, but the 'stache looked phony.
We all agree that’s 100% non-relevant, right? We’re not going to see “Medellin” and make up our minds. The movie is only as good or as bad or as popular or unpopular as the writers of the show tell us it is.
If they want it to win the Oscar for Best Makeup, then it wins the Oscar for Best Makeup.
