I’ve been sort of following this of Threads. It all seems a little too convenient, all the names that it implicates. It involves Andy Biggs and Jim Jordan when they were just out of undergrad (if my math is right), and I have to wonder what young poor 20-something nobodies would be doing at a millionaires’ pedophile/snuff farm. Also involves Lindsay Graham and Clarence Thomas.
I mean, it’s some seriously fucked up stuff. But I don’t know…
I was thinking the same thing. I’m reminded of the Dale Akiki trial in San Diego when I was a kid, where he was accused of sacrificing elephants and giraffes in a church daycare and forcing children to drink human blood.
Yeah, it reads like a kid making fanciful stuff up. I wonder if at some point he was hypnotised to “unlock buried memories” and rendered any accuracy impossible to determine.
If Bill is in there, that has to come out along with everything else.
Republicans are going to keep the spotlight on Clinton, and keep diverting attention from the fact that the files are still illegally unreleased.
Also, while I’m at it, water is wet.
If you want to know their motivations for doing so…
Democrats on the oversight committee, who signed off on the subpoenas as part of a larger list, have noted that most of the other people have not been forced to testify.
They’re being singled out solely for political reasons. Of course.
It is kind of weird watching the US turn into a third world government.
I am luckily far away, but I have lived in a failed state (Zimbabwe), with two exceptionarily corrupt presidents who ruled much like the Trump model - crony capitalism and self enrichment. Voter fraud.
It is a smaller county so easier there than the massive USA, but hey, welcome! We have cheap labour and practicality 0% ability to match the GDP vs National Debt ratio.
True as may be, they risk jail time by refusing to show up. That is, of course, unless they’ve been told that the current executive - the guy that they played golf with for a couple of decades and otherwise had all the same friends, engaging in all the same hobbies - would be disinclined to press charges.
One notes, for example, that there has never been a “lock her up” initiative on the part of either Trump administration. The closest they got was in attacking Perkins Coie, as I recall it.
