Er 11/15

Abby’s way off her game and others finally notice. I think Luka comes back though.

I’m getting tired of the “themes” running through the episodes. Last week, there was a black out, and Abby had a blackout. How clever.

This week, it was homecoming week. The Brat came home. Luka came home. Doogie went to homecoming.

Again, how clever. If it were written by high-school kids.

I was never crazy about Abby but her fall off the wagon is making me despise her. What was her reason? Her son got hurt, she had to handle it all alone - except for all her friends at the hospital who supported her and comforted her but they don’t count because she was essentially all alone because Luka didn’t answer when she first tried to call. Her son is okay and she nearly gets in an accident on the way home because she was so distracted. Gets the kid home, tucks him in then boozes it up and ignores the kid the rest of the night. Yeah, I know it’s a disease but if her concern for her son set her off then why is she ignoring him, staying out all night, boozing it up when she’s alone in the house with him, etc.? She was a somewhat strong single woman who never seemed overly dependent on other people but she goes to hell when Luka leaves for a while.

If they have so much trouble thinking of new soap opera-ish problems for their characters then why not go back to some of the ones they haven’t used in a long time? Hey, no one has had a fatal brain tumor lately!

At least they’re back to seasonal appropriateness - the kid fell off the ladder when cleaning leaves out of the gutters. Apparently last week’s heat wave really was just some random freak occurrence.

There were lots of good moments in the show, I thought. The fact that Morris knew about the cheese-roller guys, as did geeky intern…the missing slice of cheese…the intern cutting open the kid and getting blood all over the rental suit…the intern sitting with the dad instead of going to the prom…touching the dad’s shoulder…

I like the geeky intern!

I am also getting very, very tired of the whol Abby thing. Okay, she’s stressed, I get it, but come on!

I’m really hating “poor, pitiful Abby.” She’s always been a basket case, but honestly. It must be soooo hard to be separated from your doting husband for a couple of weeks–because he had to go care for his ailing dad. Cry me a river. I do like that the “cheat-ee” (what’s his name?) seems to be turning out to be a man of honor, though, in that he seems to want to do what’s best for Abby. Not that she deserves it.

And, so…did John Stamos’s stepkid (is that their relationship?) actually *kill *that boy who felt her up? What with the hysterical “I messed up!” phone call and hitting him with a tire iron…it sure seemed like more than just a bump on the head.

I was curious as to why Luka’s brother chose now to come to America. “Hey, our Dad is sick, possibly dying, let’s both go to a foreign country thousands of miles away!” “Good plan, bro!”.

“And my wife will just love having you one bedroom away while we make love.”

Is there even another bedroom? Won’t he be on the couch, that’s even worse!
