Abby isn’t doing too well with her husband’s brother being in their home these days. Expect her to hit the sauce even harder.
Oh, she hit the sauce alright.
Her character is seriously starting to piss me off. Can she have no sympathy for her husband at all? She never used to be such a bitch.
Hmm, racist kid lashes out at a harmless immigrant woman while angry about his father’s injuries, gets put down physically by woman’s son who was working hard to better himself, later beats son to death, then finds out (too late, tragically) the woman saved his father’s life…
Was that E.R. or an after-school special about racism?
Oh, I remember Abby being quite the bitch in the past. Still I can’t help but sympathize with her a little. She’s lashing out at Luka because of the guilt and shame she feels for cheating on him. But I think Luka could stand to be more understanding of how difficult it was for her while he was gone. It was also a little insensitive of him to bring his brother home without asking her first.
I thought this was a rather weakly written episode. Who was the “they” who the son kept saying “They all said it was her fault”? And why, when he was going off on the woman’s son while still in the hospital about how it was all her fault, didn’t anyone on staff say, “Um no, she pulled your father out of the machine - why don’t you go ask him if you don’t believe us?” And I assume he must have called some friends to go beat the guy’s head in, since he could not have been gone from the hospital for all the time it would have taken to find out where he lived, get a gang together, go over there, beat him up, and return to the hospital. It wasn’t supposed to be that he did it himself but rather got someone else to do it, right?
On another note, when are they going to cancel this show? I think I heard this is the last season - is that true?
Well, yeah, you have a point there. Apart from anything else, their father then ended up dying with *neither ** of his kids there, which doesn’t seem very cool.
*I’m just assuming there are no more kids, but you never know when the writers might add another one.
Normally ER isn’t as bad as everyone says it is. This time it was.
The “they” who blamed the cleaning woman may have been the father’s co-workers who didn’t witness the accident. And the description of the assault was that several guys beat up the woman’s son, so I’m assuming that the man’s son called his friends to do the job for him.
As for cancellation, I heard that it was going to be cancelled last year or the year before, but it’s still profitable, so they renewed it. But it seems that they are just going through the motions. The storylines are so repetitive. How many times can that hospital have to respond to a mass casualty incident?
300th episode next week. The mind boggles.
I’m none too pleased with Abby either.
I fell asleep again. This seems to be my standard comment on the show now.
Sometimes I remember the glory days with Mark Green and I get wistful. The writers may just be going through the motions and I’m just going through the motions trying to watch it.
