Eureka is back! (for now)

Turns out she was only mostly dead then started running amok and being given a new body made that easier. Which has prompted the DoD to cut funding to GD and shut down Eureka.

I can’t believe there’s only one more episode. :frowning:

<not spoilering - don’t care>

yeah - because the one thing the DoD would want to shut down is the geniuses that just perfected cloning and programming of the clones - Why is it I see a man in the background wearing a dark cloak?

While I am watching to the bitter end - they really lost touch this final season - there were definitely moments of genius intertwined - makes perfectly good sense that Henry would fight the military nature of ‘this timelines’ Eureka - but sheesh - some of the stuff just seemed down right silly - and not in a good way.

“I taste like chicken” - however, has to be one of the highlights…

They are not perfect clones, when you zorch them they turn into black goo, not … parts. [after all parts is parts.]

I do not like the dark Eureka. We were discussing it last night, and it almost seems like they also combined a couple different seasons to get through all the plot threads. I liked the monster of the week Eurekas anyhow. Much more interesting IMHO than having to dick around with a plot arc.

Yep. They took a nice, quirky, charming little show and fucked it up good. But then, that’s SyFy’s Mission Statement.

But until they are zorched, they are about as good a clone as money can buy - and programable via flash drive - doesn’t get much better than that .

My wife and I are enjoying right up until the end. Personally I think some viewers always seem to get upset when a show doesn’t follow the arc they would have written, rather than enjoying (or dropping) the show that is written.

It feels like they’re rushed and unprepared. I don’t know when production started vs the announcement of cancellation, but it feels like the had something all planned out, then had to rapidly adjust things. I feel that if this wasn’t the last season, this season might have been different, paced different, not quite so dark.

They had just wrapped filming on the episode that aired last night when the cancellation was announced. They were granted an extra episode to ‘wrap up’ - last night would have been the season finale. The last episode, which will air next week, was written in one day and then immediately filmed. I’m not expecting much out of it.

It could be worse. They could make a SyFy Original Movie out of it.

They’re also a veritable Pandora’s Box. Imagine all the chaos one could cause with an Obama clone!

Fuck me, I thought the entire season was the way it was because they knew the end was coming and all. A lot of shows start half assing it that way when they know the curtain’s coming. Given your description of the situation, I’m REALLY not expecting much from the finale now.

I have my hopes up, but I’m afraid the final episode might become another “These Are the Voyages.”

How did the finale go?

Did they wrap it up nicely?

Finale wrapped up very nicely . Happy Endings with a call back to the pilot episode.

I’ll agree overall - although the ‘buy out’ felt overly cheesy - I really liked the bookend.

Just watched it myself - I agree that it wrapped up pretty nicely (and much better than I had feared).

Pretty satisfying ending, though it did feel a bit rushed. Nice to see Zoe again–loved the final scene.
